Ideal for couples or individuals looking for a quiet, secluded space from which to explore the local landscape. Guests are greeted with an organic welcome snack and breakfast supplies!

The space
The self-contained stone annex is set within the grounds of The Granary, a short walk away from the main building. Guests can enjoy the communal walled garden and patio area where there is comfortable seating for outside dining.

Accommodation comprises of a double bedroom area with plenty of hanging space, drawers, shelves, hooks and racks, opening to a comfortable lounge area stocked with books, games and a smart TV. The space is furnished with a vibrant combination of up-cycled, bespoke pieces and has a unique 'vintage meets contemporary' feel. The kitchen/dining space is very well equipped with a ceramic hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge and there is a separate wet room/bathroom with a spacious walk in, rainfall shower.

Although the annex is a self-catering apartment we like to welcome our guests with all the supplies needed for a fully organic, entirely delicious arrival snack and breakfast. Treats include; organic, locally and freshly made bread, butter and preserves, organic tea, coffee and milk and juicy, organic oranges ripe and ready for squeezing!

We want to take care of our beautiful planet too so we also provide a compost bucket and recycling bin, eco-friendly cleaning products, natural toiletries in refillable containers and 100% recycled toilet paper. We aim to save water by having our grey water drain into an outdoor water butt. This means our kitchen sink waste water gets re-used to water the garden!

Where you’ll be

Ampney Saint Mary, England, United Kingdom

The Granary lies within the picturesque stone-built village of Ampney St. Mary which boasts two working farms. Quaint golden stone cottages are surrounded by quintessential cotswolds dry stone walls dividing rolling hills and farmland. An abundance of scenic walks and cycle routes to be explored on the doorstep and in the nearby designated area of outstanding natural beauty.

The main house is a former granary and the outhouse (now the studio) was originally used to store farm equipment. Both are grade 2 curtilage listed buildings dating from the late 1700’s and converted to residential dwellings in 2018. The property is one of three new homes created from the barns and outbuildings of the original grade 2 listed manor farmyard.

You'll know you’ve found us when you see a classic red telephone box (which is actually the village library and defibrillator!) just outside our driveway.

I love making things and creating, the arts, comedy, reading and writing, music, singing and dancing. I also love travel, cooking (was a professional chef and restaurant owner) exploring new places, trying new food and meeting interesting people. I aim to take good care of my instrument with clean eating and regular yoga. I like to keep the world around me as clean as possible too, which is why I'm passionate about recycling, up-cycling and minimising waste and harmful substances, for myself and for my guests. I'm very keen to help make your stay the best possible experience. I'm happy to answer any questions and help in any way I can. To your adventure!
