The space

Location. It is a country home one block from the center of the village. Four people can use the house comfortably. Although I will not be in the house, the fridge and its contents can be used by guests.

Guest access

The house is walking distance to the village and its shops. For more extensive sightseeing such as the Ashokan Reservoir, the villas on the Hudson, the nearby stone houses, a car is required since public transportation is limited.

Interaction with guests

I will usually be in the city but my housekeeper/manager lives across the street and will be able to help out with any problems.

Quiet, cozy and comfortable home. The book collection is wonderful and our children loved the backyard pond and the nearby playground. Short walk to shops and restaurants in Woodstock.

An extremely charming house, walking distance to the village of woodstock. Beautiful fireplace, with sunroof, great sunroom, and backyard. This house is an artists dream, and put together beautifully. Must see the brownstone doll house!

Theas home is lovely and we had a fantastic time. The pictures are accurate and I wish we could have stayed longer. I look forward to returning to this peaceful haven in the future.

So many special additions to this house. Loads of books, records, fire place... we had a magical time at Thea's. The location could not be closer to town but it set back and super quiet. The screened in porch would be fantastic for warmer months. We loved our stay and would come back any time!

Thea's home is so beautiful and everything went well with our stay. We were so close to the main street, easily walkable but with 2 feet of snow we opted for the minute drive downtown. There is an incredible view of the mountains from the living room, which is also a short drive away. I can't get over how beautiful the house was, and I'm sure when there is no snow, the backyard and sun room are fantastic places to spend some time during your stay as well. Thea was a wonderful host and responded quickly with all my questions. I would love to stay here again!

Thea's home is wonderful. It looks like the photos and has a nice fireplace that we enjoyed. She set out tea and a bottle of prosecco for us which was very sweat and unexpected! The home was affordable for us and we had a great time and will definitely be back!

Thea's home is the perfect spot to relax, slow down & rejuvenate. Her home is so warm, cozy & inviting that we had a hard time moving ourselves from the living room couch in front of the fireplace to wander out! Upon arriving we found a bottle of wine waiting for us...thank you Thea it was very much enjoyed on our cold weather weekend. The walk into town was no more than 10 minutes. The town was pretty quiet this time of year but in the spring & summer months when it's busier the home is nicely located where it's a little more secluded. There are quite a few restaurants in town that are excellent we especially liked the Garden Cafe for dinner. Overall we had a wonderful weekend in a true delight of a home with a gracious host!

Thea User ProfileThea is a superhost.

I am a transplanted New Yorker who lived most of my life in Washington DC. My daughter and grandchildren live next door to me so I will move there to give you the total run of my house when you come.

Dancing, travelling, scrabble, movies, politics and friends probably take up most of my retirement time.

Although I am a francophile my command of the language is abysmal. If you speak French, I will have breakfast with you...
