Stylish and uniquely charming cottage is walking distance to Montana State University and town, close to skiing at Bridger Bowl & Big Sky, fishing, hiking, and so much more. Nestled in a lush, historic South-side neighborhood this cottage is thoughtfully and lovingly renovated and decorated. Goven today's health situation the cottage will be sanitized between guests.

The space
We think that you will truly enjoy the unique style of Yellow Dog Cottage, nestled in a lush historic South-side neighborhood, lovingly renovated and decorated with contemporary Knoll furniture pieces paired with antiques and rustic accents. Quality linens & bathrobes. Our 110-year-old farmhouse-style home is on the other side of this property providing privacy, but making it convenient to get anything extra you might need.

Why not pay less than you might for most standard hotel rooms and enjoy loads of space, high standard furnishings, and extras like fresh coffee beans and tea.

A Danish wood-burning stove makes the cottage even cozier, and the vaulted ceilings provide a wonderful feeling of openness. One space flows into the next, making this a relaxing get-away spot. The cottage sleeps three comfortably, but a 4th person could be comfortable on a cot; please request one in advance if needed ($20/night).

The cottage is in walking distance to historic downtown Bozeman, Montana State University, and the Museum of the Rockies (each 10 mins.). There are stunning walking trails nearby, along with parks, restaurants of all sorts, and ice cream and sandwich shops.

It's always beautiful in Bozeman - rain (we have the most amazing rainbows), shine (there’s a lot of it), or snow (the better to ski in) - there is something for everyone. Whether you like to hike, wander, fish, ski, hunt, or shop and dine out, our cowboy country offers everything from wine bars and whisky distilleries to quaint coffee shops, local bison to vegetarian cuisine, boutiques and high-end fashion, the most amazing rivers in which to fish, float, and tube, world class skiing, hot springs - no matter what you like the local charm abounds.

Yellowstone National Park and the Big Sky ski resort are a short 55 minutes away. Bridger Bowl - America's awesome best-kept secret ski area - is only 18 minutes away. We have a film festival, food festival, the Sweet Pea festival, art walks, "Music on Main" each week in the summer, and so much more… Check out this link for a calendar of events: (website hidden)

Guest access
Small private yard space with stylish table and chairs for outdoor relaxing. No need to share space with anyone else. You even get your own parking space and gate entrance.

Other things to note
We have dry friendly dogs that use our back yard only when we are at home. If guests are outside we will keep our pups indoors.

We think our neighborhood is the nicest in Bozeman. Here is where you will find most of the town's historic homes, including the Story Mansion just one block away. There is a wonderful, friendly atmosphere with a mix of locals, transplant families, and university students who all live in Bozeman for the amazing quality of life and accessibility to the incredible array of outdoor activities and beauty. MSU and downtown are each less than 10 minutes by foot. Hiking and biking trails are close by.

I have had my home and cottage in Bozeman for over 17 years. During that time our family lived abroad in Lugano, Switzerland, and then Surrey, England for a total of 9 years, returning to our home once or twice a year to stay in touch with lovely Bozeman and our increasingly local friends. We are originally from Connecticut and have lots of family there. I’ve been back in Bozeman full time for about 4 years and love all the many activities MT has to offer including skiing, snow showing, hiking, cycling, camping, tennis, pickle ball, yoga and so much more. I have two amazing sons, one at the Naval Academy and the other in medical school at University College London, London, England. I’m busy managing my two rental properties located on the edge of the MSU campus and their 22 tenants along with our lovely Yellow Dogs guest Cottage. Our Yellow Dog (lab) is named Rumo and you will occasionally see him playing in the fenced in backyard.
