The space

This garden suite is located in the main house of Hacienda on the Hill, a very unique property that is over 200 years old. In fact, it is one of the oldest haciendas on Lake Chapala. Originally a seminary, it has played several other roles in its lifetime including that of gold mine.
The Private Room is large and has a walkout to the garden. It is steps from breathtaking views of Lake Chapala, Mount Garcia, and the village of Ajijic below, other mountains above. In fact, the views from Hacienda on the Hill are some of the best in Ajijic. This room Room has a queen bed. This unit has an en suite bathroom with shower. A coffee maker, toaster, microwave and mini fridge is available.
Wi-Fi is accessible in the rooms and there is plenty of parking on the street.
Hacienda on the Hill is ideally located just a short 10-minute walk to the centre of the village. Do you feel like taking a hike? The best hiking trail up the mountain to either the “chapel” or the waterfall starts just outside your door.
Note: An unexpected surprise awaits you on the grounds – an exquisite tiny consecrated chapel.

Leslie's home is a fantastic place to stay. It's was perfect and so peaceful. The view is stunning, the room is homely, spacious and has everything you could need. Leslie was an amazing host, she was so welcoming to us and our 4 year old daughter. She effortlessly gives all the privacy you might need and also makes herself available if you need any help. I can't recommend this place enough. I could have stayed forever.

Leslie's airbnb and Leslie herself are wonderful. The grounds (trees, flowers, lawns), huge terrace with spectacular views, are paradise. Gorgeous sunsets. Everything clean and comfortable. Rosio, Leslie's helper, is kind, friendly, and very attentive to your needs. It is a good balance between privacy and Leslie's availability. There are other casitas on the property with other guests whom I met and thoroughly enjoyed chatting with, and we even went out together for meals. Each casita is distant from each other and private. The pool was not available during my stay, but that was not an issue for me. Check with Leslie if that is important. Also, her place is on the hill, so depending on your physical condition, you may need a car. For me, age 63, decent shape, it was a few minutes of exercise, Her 3 dogs are a blast; loved them. I highly recommend a stay at Leslie's place.

This must be the loveliest place in Ajijic. We were amazed at the grounds of this historic property: gardens and multi-level patios, its own exquisite chapel antigua, and unequaled views of the lake and the pretty village below. You will love it! Leslie is a wonderful host and you'll be in for a treat if she has a moment for a chat.

I truly had a life changing journey Ajijic and Leslie's place, in one of her garden suites was an oasis of seclusion in a lovely setting, marvelous views and a warm, hospitable, kind hostess. Bring good walking shoes! Thanks Leslie!

We really enjoyed our stay. Leslie was a very gracious host. We really enjoyed the beautiful avacados right outside our apartment. Gorgeous, peaceful views from this property. We needed the exercise we got walking up to the hacienda each day. Bring sturdy walking shoes. We learned that it is best to bring sufficient cash, or to be able to access funds, because very few restaurants or stores accept credit cards. Also, the best deals are made using pesos.

I love the blend of British and Mexican style in the room we stayed. The provision of simple self-serving breakfast in the small dining area between the room and bathroom is nice. We enjoyed the company of the four dogs, the beautiful flowers, fruit trees and the spectacular view of the town and lake.
