I stayed in this house with my familiy (6+2) for a week during the summer of 2015. First of all: Lone and Rene run a professional house rental service and this is a rental house in which no one actually lives. I want to mention this because it doesn't come across very clearly in the description of the house. This also means that the house is somewhat scarcely decorated and is not as cozy as some of the other AirBnB private homes you might have tried. It also means that you will have to rent stuff like bed sheets and towels and buy your own essentials like toilet paper and even salt.
That being said, this is still a very nice house. The house has plenty of beds, a huge livingroom and a kitchen with a large table which is perfect for a group or a family. The place is clean, the beds are nice and we never ran out of hot water while showering.
The house also has a large, enclosed garden where children can safely run around and there is also a large outdoor dining table on a patio (but be prepared for a windy experience - as anywhere else in Skagen).
The house is located in a very quite area on the outskirts of town. Still, because Skagen is such a small place, it will only take you about 10 minutes of walking to get to the "strip".
At arrival we were met by Lone who showed us around the place and told us a little about the area. She was very sweet and helpful and she also helped us out a couple of times when we had to call her with questions.
There were a couple of annoyances: Such as very little toilet paper at arrival (we arrived late with kids). Also, we couldn't find any drying stand for clothes to use inside when it was raining. And the main door to the house is very hard to open and you have to jerk the handle with a lot of force to open it. Two adults in our company were not able to open it at all. There is also just one set of keys.
But despite the above we still had a great experience and I will recommend this place to any group or family!
