The Cottage rests over the end of Penobscot River just as it opens into the Bay. The Cottage will comfortably fit two folks in the one bedroom.
The Carriage House Suite has two bedrooms, a full bath and a sitting area. The Carriage House Suite is approximately 200 feet from the Cottage.
A large lavender garden terraced down to the sea lies in sight from the Cottage windows. The lavender is in bloom early to mid-July. There is also sea lavender on the shore in August.

The space
The Cottage may be rented separately for two. A larger group would need the additional space in the Carriage House Suite.
The additional space is two bedrooms, sitting area and a full bath which is accessed by the same driveway as the Cottage.
Eight miles away is Bucksport, a mill-town that is entering a new and exciting era. Enjoy the brothers' brew at the Friars Brewhouse Tap Room in town. Tucked away you will find a great bistro, Verona Wine and Design run by Michael and Charlene. Great hosts with excellent food, music many summer nights and wine tastings. You will find natives and tourists gathered around Wahl's Dairy Port. As you head out of Bucksport stop at Carrier's Mainly Lobster for steamed lobsters and clams, fried seafood and sandwiches. - BJ will treat you right!
Acadia National Park is only 35 miles from the Cottage... and if you desire the hustle and bustle of a touristy destination - Bar Harbor is mere minutes from Acadia Park. A great day trip.
Don't forget Castine - it wakes up during the summer and should be explored!
Blue Hill, a small art community, offers unique shopping and wonderful hiking.

Guest access
Guest may use all the area in the Cottage and the Carriage House Suite is available for an additional fee dependent on the number of guests. Guests have exclusive use of these areas.
Feel comfortable to explore the lavender gardens, gazebo and the shore.
Arrangements may be easily made to explore the rest of the four acres - just a shout out is all that is needed.
There is a grill for the Cottage. If you should desire to have you own seafood boil - there is a kettle and outside burner for this. Arrangements may be made to purchase lobsters and clams from a local lobster man. Check in with him for a downeast experience in his lobster boat!

Other things to note
The Cottage is 20 minutes from the Maine Maritime Academy.
Nights are usually cool around the Cottage.

Hi, I'm Suzanne. I grew up in Massachusetts. I have lived in Florida, California and Louisiana. I love Louisiana and return there regularly. After living in Louisiana for more than 25 years I returned to the northeast, to Maine. Maine has always captured my imagination! To my delight my youngest daughter moved up here also, along with her husband and my granddaughter. They later added a son to their family. My other daughter and two grandchildren live in San Diego. When I bought my home in Maine, I envisioned family parties - BIG family parties. And they happened! In order to have them as big as I wanted I would need more space - I renovated the main house over time adding two additions. My brother and Dad built a two bedroom, sitting room and full bath over the garage. Through the woods was a camp that I could barely see. I planned one day to make that mine - That happened in 2002. That "camp" was renovated from the exterior walls in - a septic system added and it became what is now - The Cottage. Over the last twenty years, my dad left us to join my sister in heaven. My Mom is now 92 and no longer travels. My brother Bob's children and my younger brother Ron and his family have moved away from the northeast. I hated seeing the little Cottage empty and I didn't want to sell it - hosting it is a perfect solution! I would love to see you enjoy this special place.
