Hafod is hidden and private (3/4 mile from the road) with a sheltered and secluded woodland garden all to yourself. Visitors have fallen in love with the cottage and its location over the twenty eight years we have been renting.
Not only are there wonderful walks from the front door, but the Ffestiniog railway request stop Plas Halt is only a 5 minute walk from the cottage. You can see the estuary and Portmeirion lighthouse from the walk to Plas Halt as well as mountain views of the Rhinogs, Moelwyn, Manod ranges.
It is a perfect place for dogs and the only cars on the tracks are yours and ours. The garden is fenced to keep our conservation grazing cows out, and we ask you to close gates.
Sandy beaches at Harlech or Borth y Gest, the Portmerion Italianate Village, Llechwedd Slate caverns in Blaenau Ffestiniog with the new zip wires, mountain bike routes and cavern trampolines, Coed y Brenin mountain biking tracks are all a 20 minute drive away.
Lots of castles too.

I live with my husband Richard and our two sons in Snowdonia, North Wales. We care for the land and 26 years ago felled 30 acres of conifers and planted oaks and broadleaf trees around our cottages. Two years ago we introduced a few cows to graze and create woodland pasture. This is encouraging a more diverse habitat for birds and wildlife. It is a very special and secluded place.
