Peace and quiet

A picturesque oak barn, accomodation on the first floor, overlooking a lake, in a beautiful quiet countryside location, 5 mins from the M5, junction 26.
No light pollution, great for star gazing.
A perfect stop off on your way to Cornwall.
Situated in a small gated community with many countryside walks and close to the small town of Wellington and Taunton.
Local attractions include Sheppy’s Cider, West Somerset Steam Railway, Somerset Cricket Ground, Hestercombe Gardens, Knightshayes

The space
An attractive Scandinavian style lodge situated on the first floor, overlooking a beautiful lake with ducks and wildlife in abundance.
Private access via secure electric gates and a long tree lined driveway.
The lodge has lovely views over the pretty gardens and orchard.
There is a bench on the front lawn and a table with sun umbrella and double seat adjacent to Lakeside Mews for your use.
The Lodge is located on the edge of the Blackdown Hills, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The open plan large space is clad in wood throughout and is cosy, yet well equipped with everything you need for a short relaxing weekend break, to a full weeks holiday exploring the beautiful Somerset and Devon countryside.
It is also ideal for the working person who needs an extremely comfortable and peaceful place to use as a work base or work space.
Entirely private, for you to relax in the peace of the countryside, yet so accessible for the M5 motorway.

Guest access
Access via secure private gates, leading to a tree lined driveway. Lakeside Mews is the quiet, secret space hidden from view. It is situated off a small country lane and away from the main public thoroughfare.
On arrival you need to come to the right hand set of gates for Gerbestone Lodges, press the buzzer for Willow Lodge, wait and we will let you in. We will then meet you on arrival.
However should you prefer to let yourself into the lodge independently, then we can provide you with the access number for the key safe.
You will be also be given a key fob to access the electric gates. They automatically open on exit whilst driving but require the fob if walking.

Other things to note
We have a friendly Burmese cat, a cream coloured one called Henley and two Asian cats called Daisy and Nutmeg (not allowed in the lodge) plus some guinea fowl, ducks, pheasants and Moorhen who roam the gardens. There is a wealth of amazing bird life including both lesser spotted and green woodpeckers, Mistle Thrush and the odd Jay.

You may also see one of the deer who visit the garden often early in the morning. A beautiful sight but they eat our roses.

Please note no smoking or vaping inside the accommodation or in the surrounding area e.g. garden or outside front door. Thank you.

Neighbourhood highlights

We are only 5 mins from the motorway but we hear and see very little traffic.
Our entrance is down a country lane and a long drive, enclosed by electric gates . There are 4 lodges in a 5 acre plot of both woodland and gardens. There is a lake and tennis court, unfortunately both are for private use only however you can see the lake from your bedroom window.
It is a very quiet, peaceful and tranquil place to live. There are no street lamps and it is dark at night, so the stars are easy to spot.
There are some lovely country pubs and restaurants within easy driving distance and many beautiful walks just outside the perimeter where you can walk safely across fields for many miles with views of the Blackdown hills and the Wellington monument.
