About this listing

This description was automatically translated from French using Google Translate and may not be completely accurate.

Come stay in our beautiful house near the fishing village N'dangane on the banks of the Sine-Saloum; Delta classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From the terrace you can admire this wonder. Typical house in the shape of a hut.

The space

Our hut is located on the edge of the Sine-Saloum delta, with the low tide and the high tide, Mangrove and balonges. Many of the unique birds are there at low tide to seek their food. The place is quiet. The typical house has 3 rooms: 1 room with a bed 1.80 m, a bathroom with toilet, and a kitchen dining room. But because it is very beautiful, you eat on the terrace. You can cook yourself or ask the keeper's wife to prepare your meals. Our guard is fully at your service (not included). He lives on the same ground in his own hut with his small family in all discretion. He also has a horse with a cart and can make you visit the surroundings.
At home you can use your computer thanks to wifi.

Guest access

You can go to the village Ndangane (1 km) where there are many shops and shops typically African. You have a few restaurants nearby, also at the water's edge.
For fishing the place is ideal. The sea water mixes with that of the streams (Saloum) and they are subjected to the tide. Bolongs are generally accessible to canoes.
On the small harbor of Ndangane you can rent a canoe and discover with a guide the beauty of the Mangrove, the bolong, and small islands which are refuge for many birds. There are also villages on the island of Mar lodj to taste fish and meet the locals.
With a taxi (cheap) you can go to the typical market (cattle, vegetables, fruits, souvenirs) the mecredi in Ngueniène.
You can also visit the fishing port at Fadiouth, Joal Fadiouth with the bridge at the Island of Shellfish. And many other original places in the area and around 'your' house (on foot, or with the cart and keeper). The people are very friendly and welcoming.

Interaction with guests

We are Dutch people who live in France, so we are not on site but the guard and his wife are in contact with us and welcome you.

Well equiped kitchen. Quiet neighbourhood and close to everything. The views from the terrace are amazing (eating breakfast while looking at the delta). Cheick and his family were amazing. His wife cooks amazing shrimps and he goes out of his way to make sure you have a good time. Thank you!

We stayed at Margot's place for 4 nights. The place is just amazing. It is really relaxing and peaceful, walkable distance from the village. We didn't meet Margot but Cheihk, the house keeper made us feel welcome from the very first minute. He was taking care of us during our stay. We spent the new year's Eve with Cheihk and his lovely family and although we spoke a little French, we interacted a lot. Thanks for your hospitality!

Drove from Dakar. Very easy and nice ride. The place is wonderful, from the inside to the surrounding areas easily accessible. Cheikh made us feel instantly welcome and was available for any request or assistance. Can't beat time on the hammock or under the stars. The place is fantastically relaxing and if you enjoy a bit of a trip there are tons of things to do. Couldn't be happier, merci so much. Wish I could have stayed longer.
