My sister Laura and i will usually greet you upon your arrival on saturdays and sundays. Were it not possible, our assistant Nausica, who lives nearby, will cordially greet you and provide you with all necessary information and help.

The neighbourhood

The house is located on the mount behind Cinque Terre, which are a national park and a Unesco World Heritage site: 5 quaint hamlets, typical of the ligurian coast: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza, Monterosso; once accessible only on foot or from the sea, they can now be reached by train, boat, or through winding and narrow roads. Well-signaled paths will lead you to Campiglia, Tramonti, Portovenere, and Riomaggiore through the harsh but fascinating nature typical of the mediterranean Maquis/Macchia, showing you breath-taking sights, In Liguria, paths and roads are often uphill, with seemingly endless steps and stairs. In Biassa, the climate is temperate, being pleasantly cool in Summer and never too cold in Winter, and considerably humid.

Getting around

Public bus lines allow one to reach Riomaggiore, La Spezia, and other locations nearby. Schedules can ve viewed on the ATC website of La The last bus departs from La Spezia each day at 20:16 PM. Daily tickets allow one to travel freely on all lines of La Spezia's Urban District (Comune). A daily ticket costs € 5,00 and, upon validation, allows one to travel freely for 24 hours.

Other things to note

In Biassa there are two groceries, a tobacconist's and a bar/restaurant. The most beautiful beaches are the rocky ones in Riomaggiore, Portovenere, and Monterosso and San Terenzo's sandy beaches (20 minutes away).

Hello, i'm Margherita, and i work and live as an architect in Milan, after having lived for 20 years in Germany. Together wit hmy sister Laura, who lives in Florence, we purchased years ago a stone house in the ancient hamlet of Biassa, between La Spezia and Riomaggiore. There we meet with friends and sons: we love tranquility, walking in the woods and the sea of Cinque Terre, our humbly furnished house, the fire in the hearth, and the old walls.
