Set in the middle of the picturesque fishing village of Carrigaholt, SeaView House is a charming and spacious house with an extraordinary garden which  runs all the way down to the shore of Carrigaholt. The living areas all share the breathtaking view of the Shannon Estuary; a place to have breakfast whilst watching the boats come into the near and far piers. The coastline of Kerry is opposite and can be seen clearly from the garden. The house is idyllic in its setting and a rare find!

The space
The house is fully set up for our guests and we have tried to accommodate for their every need. There are 4 very spacious bedrooms, each with memory foam mattresses and new beds. Each bedroom is ensuite. Three of the double rooms have also an additional single bed, if needed.
There are two main living areas set to the back of the house which are glass fronted  with french doors and floor to ceiling windows. The rooms run onto the back of the house into the garden. I am an avid gardener and have enjoyed creating a garden that is very much so enjoyed all year round. It is really the highlight of the house! The living areas are just a continuation of this. The garden runs all the way down to the shore where you can swim and enjoy the views even more. It is a boastfully scenic garden which runs right onto the mouth of the Shannon.
I live in the smaller, attached part of the house with my two dogs, Harley and Fionn. I am very conscientious about giving me guests space during their stay however my dogs will perhaps come up to say hello more regularly as the garden is their home also. I have a fruitful veggie garden which guests can feel free to take from for some organic ingredients.

Where you’ll be

Carrigaholt, County Clare, Ireland

Carrigaholt is a picturesque fishing village on the southern side of Loop Head, about 10 kilometres southwest of Kilkee.
Set within an important ecological environment, the village lies at the mouth of the Moyarta river, which flows into the Mouth of the Shannon about 15 kilometres from the westernmost extremity of the peninsula.
Carrigaholt is centred between two harbours, and although both are used, only the one to the south of the village (known as the ‘new’ pier) is fully operational on a commercial basis. The pier serves local fishing boats, delivering their catch to the local processing company, sea angling tours, and award-winning dolphin watching tours at the Mouth of the Shannon, home of the largest group of resident Bottlenose Dolphins in Europe.
The village has an attractive centre, with distinctive streetscapes and quaint local character, and several pubs and restaurants. The harbour, the church (built 1882-1883) and, most important, the ruins of Carrigaholt Castle (see History & Heritage) are the most distinctive local landmarks.
Carrigaholt also boasts a safe, sandy beach for swimming and water sports.

During your stay

I am a local fisherman so can offer any advise or help to you during your stay, I am also very aware that you are here on holidays, so respect giving you your own space and time to enjoy the house and time out. I live next door to the house and have two dogs who might roam the garden as well during the day, they are very welcoming and friendly and please excuse them if they are curious as this is their patch too..If anything is needed during your stay I will be there to help but I like to leave guests feel entirely at home an most times will be out or away.
