The studio is charming and perfectly located, in the middle of the most bustling part of Edinburgh but down a quiet alley.

The flat was well located. One entrance led out through a close to the Royal Mile and the other entrance to The Mound. There are about 14 steps up to the lift from the Mound Entrance and Rachel had arranged for John to help me with my luggage which I much appreciated. The flat was comfortable and had a lovely view over Edinburgh. There is one big room which has a large bed, armchair, table and chairs and a small kitchen in one corner. The bathroom is a good size. So is the shower cubicle. I loved the decor, paintings, books etc and it felt like a home away from home. And it was perfect for going to Festival events.

I had a fabulous stay. This has got to be the perfect little spot for one or two in Edinburgh. One exit from the apartment opens onto the Royal Mile and the other exit is a very short (a couple of minutes), scenic walk to Princes Street.. talk about in the heart of things :) How lucky was I to book this during the festival and military tattoo :) Fabulous host, and super comfortable and clean. Lovely touches too (all the artwork and books). The perfect little home away from home. If I return I'd definitely stay here again.

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! This apartment was perfect! The view is beautiful and just spacious enough for a couple. We loved the charm of the old building and that it was 1 minute from the Royal Mile, easy walk from the train station and awesome pubs and restaurants just below. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. Rachel and Ghil also provided great communication and were flexible with our arrival after we had a late train and missed connection. Some extra perks about this place: Lift, view, hair dryer, wifi, location, view, a nice fan, big bed with comfortable bedding, quiet at night. BOOK IT!

It couldn't be better! The location was very good, and the apartment was nice, clean, and comfortable. Above all, Rachel was kind and considerate enough to take a good care of all we need from the reservation to the final day of the stay. I would like to strongly recommend staying at her apartment :-)

As The Travelling Bookbinder I divide my time between Edinburgh and the Isle of Iona. Teaching workshops internationally allows me to combine my love of paper art and travel. I've been having an affair with Edinburgh for many years and am still entranced by it. If you have any questions, try me! I'll be happy to tell you what I know of this fantastic city.
