Description

You will immediately feel at home in this fully-equipped roomy apartment flooded with light and sunshine. Ideal central location just steps away from the historical Aligre Market, the neighborhood is vibrant, friendly, safe, and a foodie's paradise!

This comfortable and harmonious 4th-floor corner apartment is fully furnished and equipped. The living space that includes an open kitchen, dining area and living room features five large double-windows that allow for natural light all day long.

There are three bedrooms: One master bedroom with a queen-sized bed and office alcove; one guest or adolescent’s room with a twin trundle bed and full-size desk; and one child’s room with a single bed. Both the master and single room have full armoires and desks, and the master room also has a large set of dresser drawers.

The apartment is in an ideal location. Everything you may need or want is within easy reach. We are just one block away from the Marché d’Aligre, one of the city’s oldest and most famous markets open 6 days a week. A foodie’s paradise! It features a morning outdoor fruit and vegetable market, an indoor market (Marché Beauveau) featuring meat, fish, cheese, flowers, as well as Italian, Caribbean and various other specialties. The streets around the marketplace are lined with cafés, bakeries, cheese, wine, coffee and chocolate shops, organic goods, grocery stores, etc. There is also an incredibly large choice of restaurants, from the neighborhood marketplace bistro to Michelin-star quality dining. (This site has a good page on the eats in the area: (URL HIDDEN) and we can also give suggestions)

The neighborhood is a friendly blend of families, working class and hipsters, which has retained a community feel, being tucked away in between Bastille’s bustling shops and the Gare de Lyon.

Within a couple blocks and easy walking distance: the Promenade Plantée (elevated foot path), the Bastille port and Seine river, a children’s square (equipped with ping-pong tables), a large Monoprix, schools (primary, elementary and high schools), a community center a block away that has yearly arts, music and sports courses for kids and adults, Bastille with it's 4 movie theaters, opera house and boutiques. The Bois de Vincennes is within 15 minutes by bike (995 acre park, the largest in Paris) .

International schools close by as well (Maurice Ravel, Cours Molière).

A public bike-sharing station is literally just outside the front door! Bike paths are more and more frequent in Paris.

Three convenient metro lines are less than 5 minutes walking distance, as well as the Gare de Lyon and countless bus lines. Closest metro stations: Gare de Lyon (metro lines 1 and 14, RER lines A and D) and Ledru-Rollin (line 8). The metro line 1 takes you directly to the Louvre, Concorde, Tuilleries, Champs Elysées, La Défense and the Bois de Vincennes. The Gare de Lyon has national and regional train service, including the RER A that takes you directly to EuroDisney.

Equipment includes:

Tech: TV (over 100 channels), ultra high-speed wifi, telephone (+ phone operator service that includes many free destinations including the US), stereo system, color printer (which copies and scans).

Remodeled kitchen: Full-sized refrigerator (with freezer), oven, induction stove, coffee machines (French press and Nespresso machine), water kettle, teapot, toaster, high-speed blender, dishwasher, dishes, silverware, everything you need for cooking - utensils, spices, etc.

Living room / dining area: Comfortable living space with a couch (hide-a-bed that sleeps two), books, leather chairs, and a full-size oak dinner table that comfortably seats 6 (10 with extensions).

Bathroom: Teak floors, full-size bath / shower, sink, towel heater, combo washer/dryer, hairdryer.

WC: Separate toilet and sink.

For kids: 2 scooters, games, cards, books, various balls, rackets and sports equipment.

Misc: Storage space, vacuum cleaner, iron, ping-pong paddles and balls.

There is no elevator (handy for walking off all the market goods!)

The master bedroom looks out onto the elementary school so there is some playground noise during the day in that room.
