Great apartment in a great location. Just note that you are booking through a corporate rentals company, not someone's home. There is a $75 cleaning fee not advertised and key pick up is from another location nearby. If none of that is a concern then definitely worth staying here as the flat is modern and fully equipped right in the heart of downtown. Also would note it's two beds not three but they did kindly provide an air bed on request
Response from Aïno:
Hi! I added the cleaning fee for all listings. Depending which apartment you are booking, the welcome desk could be on the location 9 we have 2 welcome desks) Otherwise we have a key dropbox system that way you can pick them up directly at your building after welcome desk opening hours :) Thanks!
We stayed at a 2 bedroom/ 1 bath corporate stays apartment july 4th weekend for 3 nights. The location was ideal as it was on Saint Catherine street and rue de buillon, and was close to everything. Check-in was at 4pm but we called ahead and our apartment was ready so they allowed us to check in early. We picked up the keys from a different location and the staff were all great and friendly. The suite was spotless and very basic. Small dining table, small loveseat with extra chairs and a tv. The bedrooms had a bed, one small lamp and closet. There was not much light in the bedrooms to get ready in the evening. The bathroom was perfect, lots of lights, washer and dryer, shower was great. We brought our own toiletries, though some were provided. We had no issues with this apartment and would stay here again.
Well......... We loved the location and booked it for $200 per night as per the Airbnb post. She then sent an email cancelling the booking when I mentioned we were there for the Formula 1 weekend and then sent us an email doubling the rate if we wanted it...not exactly ethical, honourable or professional. Once we got to Montreal, there was still not an email sent about the check in process Until we got off the plane and had to make multiple phone calls before someone finally answered at Corporate Stays, the company that manages the property. Once we finally got to the location, the lock box containing the key didn't work, and there was no one at Corporate Stays answering the emergency phone number or email, so we were locked out. Went the restaurant we had reservations at with our luggage in tow, and with my husband on crutches, to sort out where we would be staying that night. Thankfully, a young man named Boris contacted us about an hour and a half later, after he stumbled upon our frantic email. He aquired an extra key and brought it to the restaurant. Boris saved our weekend and checked in with us to ensure everything was OK. The apartment was comfortable, clean, stylish. Perfect for what we needed and wanted...except the single tiny bar of soap. Could have used 1 or 2 more. The location was half a block from the metro and walking distance to great restaurants and bars. Our challenge was with Aïno-Kÿlla and her team, with the exception of Boris, who was very service oriented. They do not seem to have systems that would ensure things go smoothly for their clients, or any solid back up plans in place should any problems arise. Aïno-Kÿlla'S ethics seem dubious. Doubling a rate once agreed upon (and what was posted on the Airbnb site) does not leave a good taste in our mouth. I can't see that Airbnb would condone this behaviour, since we have booked many times with Airbnb and have never had a problem until now. Something like this could tarnish Airbnb's reputation in our opinion.
The good news - great location and a nice sized apartment. The bad news - 1. Awful communication 2. Arbnb advert said check in any time after 3 - Corporatestays wanted $75 to check in before 4pm 3. You have to go to an office to pick up the keys. If you are driving -the street parking is ridiculous and makes this very difficult and inconvenient. Every other Airbnb I've stayed in - someone has just met me at the property 4. You actually park in the Embassy Suites parking garage. That's fine -until you go to leave. I had a 30 minute discussion on Sunday morning with the parking garage staff just trying to leave. You prepay for your parking -but there is NO communication of that to the parking staff. They wanted me to pay again. A real pain in the ass. 5. The apartment- while well stocked with utensils etc -was dirty. 6. It was a great location and served our purpose - not sure if I would go back.
The overall experience on this listing was excellent. The host made timely responses and described the unit accurately. Check in was easy. The location was great. Walking distance to many attractions. The unit was clean and everything worked as it should. I would definitely be a guest here again.
