The quaint second floor, studio cottage is located near the lake in a quiet and eclectic area of Lake Dallas. Lake Dallas is about 30 minutes north of Dallas and 10 minutes south of Denton. You will be half a mile walk, bike ride or drive from restaurants and shops in town. The lake is at the bottom of the hill, about 150 yards. Walking along the lake, either by the marina or in nearby Willow Grove Park, is peaceful and usually full of wildlife sightings.

The space
This space is meant for peaceful relaxation. The eat-in kitchen has plenty of storage and supplies for light cooking. Relax on the balcony, overlooking the garden, with coffee, tea or a meal. Harvest a salad from your private Tower Garden when in season. Watch for the many birds that visit, as well as the butterflies that frequent our garden. The chickens will often talk to you too!

Lake Dallas used to be a fishing village and our main house was one of the original simple lake cottages, built in the 1920-30's. The guest cottage and workshop below were built about the same time so there’s lots of character.

The lake and marina are a short walk away. Willow Grove Park is a half a mile away, where you can find a boat ramp, swim beach, lovely views, and a mile-long hiking trail.

Beatitudes Tea Room is also a half-mile away in the heart of our community. There you will find delicious lunches. Shop nearby at the Market Street Mercantile or Enchanted Shops. Spa options are available at Essential Healing (next door to Beatitudes) or at Restore Youth Med Spa located inside Lake Dallas Family Medicine.

Dallas is 30-40 minutes away and Denton is 10-15 minutes away.

During your stay

We live in the separate main house on the other side of the shared driveway and are available if needed. You will probably see us working in the garden or enjoying our porch. We have two sweet boys so there is often a truck or dinosaur somewhere in the garden. Our dogs will bark, but are friendly, as are our chickens.
