Live like a New Yorker instead of staying in a stuffy, overpriced hotel. Share my small, cozy one bedroom apartment, nestled in the historic lower east side, steps to the subway and walking distance to the coolest neighborhoods. Sleep on comfy couch.

The space

Don't stay at a hostel! Stay with me in my lower east side apartment.

( Before reading description, PLEASE NOTE: do not automatically book with out messaging me first. Thanks!)

Cute, cozy, 1 bdrm apt in hip lower east side of Manhattan to share for short term stays - 1 person only. Good situation for tourist looking for cheap place to stay that is more private and homey than a hostel or someone moving to NY and looking for a home base while you look for something more permanent or someone here for short term work/business.

This listing is for sharing the bedroom - you would be sleeping on a comfy futon sleeper in the bedroom. I would be sleeping in the bed. If this listing is open, then there will also be someone sleeping on the sofa sleeper in the living room, separate but adjoining rooms. This listing is only available if the living room is already booked. You must be open to sharing place with two or three other people. The apartment is small and not 100% private for all parties, however, definitely a private bathroom.

This has worked out great many times for me and have met some great people from the all over the world (see reviews).

The apartment is steps to the F train, East Broadway stop and very close, 5 minutes to "hip Lower East Side", Canal/Delancey/Houston streets, where there are many hip bars, restaurants and shops. Apt is clean, has a fully equipped kitchen, cable TV/ A/C, heat, and wireless internet. Apartment is located on 2nd floor of well maintained walk up building. Walking distance to Soho, East Village, Little Italy, Chinatown and very close to Dumbo and Willliamsburg, Brooklyn - one stop on subway.

You will have your own keys and open to come and go as you please. Very laid back, open minded, liberal and creative environment.

Guest has access to whole apartment.

$35/ a night. No deposit needed. Open to stays from 1 night to 4 weeks, possibly longer, pending availability. Also, no smoking in apartment, though outside or on roof of building is ok.

Not ideal for bringing overnight guests considering the size of apartment and that others would also be there also.

***PLEASE NOTE - If you prefer to not have a profile, please also send me information about yourself in initial inquiry. I'm more inclined to accept reservations from guests that have clear face pictures and profiles on Airbnb.***

Guest access

Guests have access to the whole apartment.

Interaction with guests

As we will be sharing the apartment, interaction is a given. I will definitely give you as much privacy and quiet time as needed, but I am also always available for pleasant conversation and if have time, up for beers and hanging out.

Other things to note

This is my personal apartment. It's not a business. It's not a hotel. It's not perfect. I host often and keep up with my place because of that. I try to keep it as clean as possible. However, it does have imperfections like anyone's home. If you expect perfection, it's best you book a hotel. :)

One of the best places I've ever been! Great located, literally a minutes away from station shops bars coffee and few minutes walking from the majors sight.. Great house all for us, clean, warm, it got everything you need, really cool view as well! What makes the difference was the great communication I had with Ben, he's been always available to help me with anything I needed. Definitely recommended!

Great location, minute from the metro and within walking distance of bustling East Village. The apartment is exactly as described and very good for travelers on budget. Ben is a very welcoming host, and is keen to help and provide recommendations and advice. I also very much enjoyed the discussions we had. Flexible check-in/check-out is also a plus and Ben allowed me to keep my luggage until I left for the airport. Would consider again for my next trip in NYC.

This was my first time using airbnb and Ben has set the standard very high! A nice place at a very affordable price and the couch is even more comfortable than my bed at home. Ben is also very nice and helpful. The location is also great, right by a very well connected subway. Next time I'm back in NYC I can't imagine looking elsewhere.

Ben's flat is easy to reach via F train and very close to shops and food! It was easy to get there from JFK and Ben made sure I get the keys even though he wasn't there. The flat itself was clean and exactly like described. I had no problem at all with the other guest that were staying there. It's a relatively busy neighborhood but really quiet at night. Everyone's really friendly and open-minded. Ben is a very open and helpful host. He always offered me advice on where to go and what to do if I needed it. Would love to come again someday!
