Where you’ll be

Lalitpur, Nepal

Upon arrival, you'll receive our Cosy Nepal Handy Guidebook, filled with our best local tips and recommendations to help you make the most of your time in Old Patan.

Old Patan is a fantastic place to stay—far more authentic and traditional than the touristy areas of Thamel or Kathmandu, with its sprawling concrete jungle. Here, in the heart of a UNESCO Heritage Site, you'll be surrounded by countless treasures: Hindu temples, Buddhist stupas, hidden courtyards, secret pathways, monasteries, and local food spots.

In addition, the vibrant local life of the Newars—the original ethnic group of the Kathmandu Valley—ensures a rich and immersive cultural experience.

Please note that Old Patan is not a party area. While there are many excellent restaurants and local eateries nearby, most close before 10 PM, and the neighbourhood remains quiet at night. If you're looking for nightlife, we recommend taking a cab to Jhamsikhel or Thamel.

Our guests can conveniently find us every day in our Cosy Nepal office located in Yatachhen House, only 200m away (Swotha Square). We are always happy to help out our guests with anything they may need and have a nice chat with them.

We are a team of travel enthusiasts with various backgrounds but one common passion: introducing people to the magical Old Patan where we live. We love architecture, design, old wood, animals and harmony in general. We also love to meet new people from all around the world and to host them in the best conditions. All of our places are located in the Old Patan - the land of the Newars - so you can expect a very rich cultural experience.
