Hacienda La Danesa is a traditional dairy and cacao farm with over 145 years of rich heritage and history, located about an hour drive from Guayaquil, Ecuador. Family-owned and managed by the third generation Olsen family, the farm offers a unique selection of tailor-made activities for guests, including horseback riding trails, hands-on artisan chocolate making and other hacienda-related programs. La Danesa is just 30 meters above sea level and it is the perfect adventure to combine with Galapagos excursions without having to worry about altitude sickness.
Guests will have access to 500 hectares. We have many activities to choose from: horseback riding, bikes, tubing in rivers, milking, hikes, cacao and teak plantation tours, and many others!
Interaction with guests
Guests will be served by our chef and a hostess at all times. The Olsen family spends time at the farm too. Guests bedrooms have a private entrance.
You can get around the 500 hectares property by horse, bike or car.
Other things to note
There is a dog hotel on premises. Although visitors have not had any issues with this.
La Danesa is our home and we have put a lot of love to this property. We expect guests not to leave any trace :)
