Our home is designed to be open with large windows and glass doors overlooking the woods. Feel like you are outside while being in the comfort of a newly renovated and tastefully decorated home. The hot tub on the deck can be enjoyed year round!

The space

We bought and completely renovated this house a few years ago so that we could enjoy weekends in the country. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do! We’ve done it up with designer furniture and great details. The hot tub provides for great outdoor enjoyment year round, as does a very private camp fire location in the woods. Enjoy dinner or a bottle of wine on the spacious deck during spring, summer, and fall.
The house is on 4 wooded acres at the end of a dirt road. Stay in for quiet seclusion. Or... enjoy the great restaurants, antiquing, and outdoor activities in the area.

Little haven’t at the end of a windy dirty road. Such a lovely stay.

Secluded and quiet, yet modern and comfortable. Relax and forget about the outside world. Hot tub a plus. Gladly recommend it.

We had a wonderful stay at Jackie's house. We loved the house's giant windows overlooking the private, secluded forest. It was beautiful to relax in nature, and the hot tub was amazing! We also loved the decor of the house and admired the art. Everything was stylish, yet homey. One small point, we wish the cleaning service did a better job before our stay. There was a surprising amount of pet hair, kitchen/toaster crumbs, and dead bugs (we know it's a country house, but they look like they've been there a while). But those minor things did not detract from our overall stay. It was just the getaway that we needed!! Oh, and Jackie's list of local hotspots, trails and restaurants was super helpful.

The quiet serene setting was very nice. If you want to get away from everything this is the house to consider.

My husband and I rented this fun little cottage for a month over the summer and had a great time. It is situated on a lovely, and very secluded, hillside with nothing but quiet all around the house. There are a couple neighbors in the vicinity (so it's not creepy isolated) - but we never really heard / saw anyone but the occasional deer. The size of the house was perfect for our needs. While there are only two of us, we did have friends join for a couple weekends, and there was plenty of room for four people to hang out and enjoy themselves. The kitchen is tight if you have multiple cooks in your crew - but it suited our purposes really well. The place is nicely designed and outfitted - with cozy furniture and fun (albeit a little quirky) artwork. The beds both have really comfy, firm foam mattresses that we and our guests enjoyed. The outdoor furniture is useful, comfortable, and well maintained. Overall, the condition of the house was pretty good. During the course of our stay, we did have a few things that broke or needed repair (a screen door, a leaky faucet) - but it was all seemingly-routine stuff, and Jackie did an amazing job of quickly addressing problems and working around our schedule to fix things. The one thing that left us a little underwhelmed was the kitchen. The bowls and plates were mismatched and sometimes chipped - which wasn't horribly surprising for a country house, but definitely felt a little inconsistent with the rest of the tastefully outfitted space. This sounds kind of petty, but the house did not have 4 matching wine glasses - which again, is not horrible - just not what we were expecting. Cooking tools were a little hit-or-miss as well (e.g., lovely bbq tongs and microplane; no vegetable peeler). Overall, we would definitely recommend the house. We had a great time and spent some lovely, relaxing weekends up there. If entertaining or cooking is important to you, you might want to bring your favorite knives/gadgets along for your stay, and stop at Crate & Barrel on the drive up for some wine glasses. :-) Otherwise, enjoy your stay!

Response from Jackie:
Hi Donn, thank you for the great review! And thank you for the very useful feedback regarding the kitchen. We definitely aim to make it as self-sufficient as possible, but with regular usage some things wear out, get broken, lost, etc. I will make sure to restock the wine glasses and replace any chipped dishes right away, and I am sorry that I didn't catch that prior to your stay! Thanks again, we hope you will stay again in the future! Jackie

We had a really lovely long weekend at Jackie's home. The house is tucked well back into the woods, but not too far from Red Hook and Reinbeck (we recommend Adams for groceries!). The kitchen is very well-stocked with everything you might need and the patio is surprisingly large; great for catching some sun without leaving the woods. Jackie was really helpful and responded to our questions quickly. Thanks!
