The Old Stable at Lodge Cottage has been converted into a luxurious self-contained space in a modern rustic style. Private off-road parking is provided at the property and you have your own front door. Lodge Cottage is located in the historic village of Great Mongeham, less than 2 miles from the vibrant and fashionable seaside town of Deal. We are in the conservation area and have a large woodland garden surrounded by beautiful Kent countryside, great for walks & sea views.

The space
The Old Stable is annexed to our home. It is a very spacious, bright room, tastefully converted with high ceilings and beams, and a picture window which looks out over the garden. There is a cosy en-suite bathroom with a great shower, decorated in warm yellow tones. Luxury products & towels are provided for your use.

The accommodation is self-contained with its own entrance and private area of the garden to enjoy. The room is attached to our home with a door to our main kitchen sealed off but it is very private. Apart from perhaps hearing us boil the kettle, we are a very quiet family of two!

A continental breakfast basket is provided in the room each day, with local & home made provisions as well as fresh coffee & tea facilities. In the warmer months breakfast can be enjoyed in the garden.

We are lucky here in Great Mongeham to have access to the best of both - countryside & coast. It is very peaceful - the cottage is nestled in between woodland, ancient trees & farmland. Perfect for walkers & nature lovers. The village has an interesting history and an ancient Saxon church, St Martin's.

The historical seaside town of Deal and it's trendy vibe is just a stones throw away - approximately 2 miles, 5 minutes by car and a 30 minute walk. The beaches at Walmer, Kingsdown, St. Margaret's & Sandwich Bay are very close by.

Deal is a vibrant town with a great high street, independent shops, castles, a Saturday market, a pier with a great cafe (amazing views), art galleries, theatre, record shop (vinyl & beer), bars, great places to eat, museums and the conservation area with winding streets full of quirky cottages and smuggling history.

The medieval Cinque Port Town of Sandwich is approximately 5 miles away. For golf enthusiasts, the Royal St Georges Golf Club is close by at Sandwich Bay.

On a clear day you can see the French coast or even pop over for a day trip on the ferry from Dover which is only 7 miles away and a 15 minute drive. We are also well located for the UNESCO World Heritage City of Canterbury, 13 miles away with it's magnificent cathedral, Marlowe Theatre, tourist attractions & bags of history.

Lodge Cottage is our home so we are around most of the time. We like to be independent from our guests and give you space & privacy but equally we are on hand if there is anything you need. The guest information provided in the room should answer all your queries and if there are any other things you would like, such as a glass of wine, a food platter in the garden or a picnic for the beach, just ask! Special requests can be made at the time of your booking.
