Located at the very edge of Marfa, this cozy, unique adobe offers a true Marfa experience, and the best isolation and comfort for you and your family. The house is fully air conditioned and heated and has wifi. There is one bedroom downstairs with a comfy queen sized bed and one loft bedroom upstairs with a full sized bed and fun views. The full sized bathroom with shower is downstairs. There are stairs going to the upstairs loft bedroom(see pics). (Marfa Hotel Tax ID #S44 - Registered)

The space
Private, comfortable and peaceful. On-site parking, entire house which is not attached to any other structure. Concrete floors and high ceilings, air conditioned, heated and has wifi and nice star gazing from courtyard.
Two bedrooms:
- 1 bedroom downstairs with queen bed (memory foam bed topper, choice of feather or fiber-filled pillows, very clean selected linens—including flannel in the winter).
-1 cozy upstairs loft bedroom with a full sized bed, memory foam topper and sleeps two. There are stairs going to the upstairs. (See pics). If someone is staying upstairs and they need to use the bathroom all through the night, they will have to come down the stairs to do so. The bathroom is on the ground floor.
House is most comfortable for no more than 4 guests.
Full kitchen with all appliances and utensils for meals.
Full bath with rain head shower.
Lofty ceilings
The tv is for dvd viewing only. There is a fun selection of DVD’s but there is no cable tv.
WIFI - There is wifi at the house.
Some views of the Davis Mountains from the property and from upstairs.
Courtyard with distant mountain views and a fun small soaking tub (this is a handmade, “cowboy”, rustic outdoor tub with both hot and cold water.)
Comfy chairs inside can be moved outside for wonderful star viewing.

The historic Paisano Hotel, Marfa Book Company and galleries in the center of town are a 3 minute drive away, though many guests enjoy walking to downtown, about 20 minutes. Several fun restaurants are walking distance, less than 5 blocks away.

A few minute's walk from the Cemetery Merced at the end of the street. That area is high on the western edge of town, a nice place to watch the sunset, with nice views of the ranch lands and plenty of distant mountains. The railroad runs though Marfa. You will see the train from the house back yard and from upstairs. Please read what every other homeowner in Marfa has written about the train. It is the reason there is a town in the middle of the desert.

You will interact with me when booking the property - I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have in advance of your visit. At the property, you'll let yourself in, and will have phone numbers for the house manager who will be able to troubleshoot if you happen to need assistance during reasonable hours of your stay, not at 1:00 am. Please keep in mind, this is a website which offers people's homes for rent. This is not a hotel with 24hr concierge service.

Pets must be approved by owner prior to booking.

Due to the city wide "burn ban" which is in effect, there are no outdoor fires allowed at this time.

Guest access
About a week prior to your visit you will receive the basic house rules via email. Once you have read and agreed to the house rules, you will receive the four digit passcode for getting into the house. Check in is 4pm or after and there is no need to set up a specific time of your arrival. Earlier check-in times are often available, please inquire, as you can get in earlier if the cleaning team can have the house ready. If you would like to see the basic house rules before your visit, please request. More than happy to send to you at any time.

Other things to note
2-night standard minimum stay, 3-night minimum stay on holiday & event weekends.

Marfa City Hotel Tax and state tax are included on your final receipt.

There is coffee available for your use as well as drip, perk and pour-over coffee makers.

The cleaning team is following all CDC guidelines for sterilization of the house and we are working diligently to adhere to all rules and regulations.

If there are extra guests for the upstairs, take a look at the stair pics. If those extra guests have bad knees, have to use the restroom all through the night or even suffer from never-ending complaint syndrome, please do not plan on using the upstairs.

There is a county-wide burn ban in effect at this time. The high danger of brush fires unfortunately means there can be no fires in the outdoor fireplace until the ban is lifted. The county marshall is quick to issue fines for skirting this strict law.

PETS - Guests must get prior approval before bringing any pets to property. Well behaved dogs under 50 lbs are more than likely to be ok'd by home owner. Pet owner is totally responsible for any and all clean-up and will be charged for any damages.

Renters must check with Airbnb for details on any refunds due to Covid-19 virus cancellations. Not all reservations are eligible for refunds.

Location

Marfa, Texas, United States

The house is in a real, and very safe, quiet Marfa neighborhood that has older and less manicured adobe homes nearby. There is a cemetery at the end of the street, fun to explore the older section dating to the late 1800's, a dirt road behind the house for walking, a railroad 3 blocks away, and is "rustically" West Texas - this is not Beverly Hills.
