Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Our Sheep themed shepherdess hut is based in Tranmire, whitby, in the heart of the North York Moors.
Sheep sanctuary, home to 300 rescues so it can be quite noisy at times.
Most of the sheep are in the fields, spread over 50 acres during the summer, so cannot be seen. The ones near to the house are usually "special needs"
We are within driving distance to places like Sandend, Grosmont, Robin hoods bay.
There are 2 huts in the secret garden
A plantbased "glamping" with a "no meat" policy

The space
Glamping Experience
Funds raised from the hut rentals go towards the running costs of the sanctuary helping us to become more self sustaining.

The huts are in a secret garden area

A lovely way to get back to nature, to be woken by the dawn chorus of birds, cockerels and sheep.
The shepherd hut has two double beds (bunk bed style) and has a sheep theme running through it.
We are an plant based animal sanctuary with "No meat" policy :0)
On site there is a van with kettle, fridge, microwave and toaster

There is an outside "glamping" shower (please bring your own towels ) and an eco friendly composting toilet. that is shared with one other hut

PLEASE NOTE
We are a working farm/Sanctuary ~ at certain times of year when we are feeding lambs or poorly sheep etc this attracts rodents. We have humane measures in place to control this but we cannot guarantee you will not see a rodent.
The huts are located in a small forest so that also m means we are home to nesting birds, so there will be bird poop on site.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to wander around, but we ask that you do not enter closed gates as a few of the sheep are quite naughty

Other things to note
This accommodation is situated On Sheep Sanctuary. A plant based animal rescue farm.
Whilst you are staying with us you could book one of our much loved sheep hugging sessions.
Make your stay extra memorable with a guided tour and a cuddle with one of our many characterful sheep.

To book please message us.

Tranmire is located just off the A171 moor road, within easy reach of the historic village of Staithes, the world famous port of Whitby and the ancient market town of Guisborough.

Whitby is famous for its association with Bram Stoker‘s Dracula, English explorer Captain James Cook and the mysterious Whitby Jet. Visitors can stroll along the harbour walls, from where seals, dolphins and porpoises can often be seen.

Whitby is one of the most famous and popular seaside towns in Yorkshire.

Whitby is split by the River Esk. On the East Cliff, overlooking the North Sea, the ruined Gothic Whitby Abbey was Bram Stoker’s inspiration for “Dracula”. Nearby is the Church of St. Mary, reached by 199 steps.

The Captain Cook Memorial Museum, in the house where Cook once lived, displays paintings and maps.

West of town is West Cliff Beach, lined with beach huts.

As well as being the birthplace of some of modern history’s best known stories, Whitby has a maritime, mineral and tourist heritage.
