Great location

Our Sheep themed shepherdess hut is based in Tranmire, whitby, in the heart of the North York Moors. We are a sanctuary, home to nearly 300 rescues so it can be quite noisy and busy, depending on the time of year. All animals are in the fields which can be seen from the gates, but its for hut only not a sanctuary visit
We are within driving distance to places like Sandend, Grosmont, Robin hoods bay.
There are 2 huts in the secret garden
A plantbased "glamping" with a "no meat" policy

The space
Our Glamping Experience is unique in the fact that it is based upon our animal sanctuary and all funds raised from the hut rentals go towards the running costs of the sanctuary helping us to become more self sustaining.

Please Note ~ the huts are in a secret garden area and though you can see lots of animals around the area ( mainly sheep) we cannot allow unguided access into fields for both customers safety and also that of the rescues.
Guided tours can be booked as add ons, as it takes around 1.5 hours plus to walk round the rescues.
We do sanctuary tours, sheep walking and sheep hugging £33 adults £20 Children which include vegan scones & tea Or Hot choc and rocky roads.
Or you can walk to the gates and most animals will come to you for free.

A lovely way to get back to nature, to be woken by the dawn chorus of birds, sheep and moos.
The shepherd hut has two double beds (bunk bed style) and has a sheep theme running through it.
There is a small log burning fire and we do sell logs. The top of the fire can be used to boil a kettle and you are welcome to bring your own camping BBQs or disposable bbqs, but please respect the fact that we are an plant based animal sanctuary with "No meat" policy :0)
There will be an outside fire pit, but again please bring charcoals and logs if wanting to use.
We have a small sanctuary gift hut on site with handmade products to purchase (please ask )
Sadly with covid, our plans changed, so the food van won't be running this year, but it can be used to make toast and a cuppa etc as it has fridge, microwave and toaster.
There is an outside "glamping" shower (please bring your own towels ) and an eco friendly composting toilet. that is shared with two other units.
