Welcome! This 2020-built cabin is the perfect retreat for those that want Alaska rustic with a modern flair and thoughtful touches. Just a 5 minute walk from the Talkeetna Lakes Park trailhead with miles of multi-use trails for your hike/bike/canoe/SUP adventures. Close to the Flying Squirrel Bakery, a half mile away, for pastries, & the paved bike path to take you to the fun and activities of downtown Talkeetna, 4 miles away.

The space
This modern cabin is open concept. The interior is cozy while large windows looking out into the crushed stone courtyard beyond bring the outside in. The interior takes advantage of the smaller floorpan to include all modern necessities with thoughtful touches like cedar tongue and groove and local flair.

The cabin is located on a treed parcel in a neighborhood and next to the Talkeetna Spur Road and bike path. You may hear cars passing during your stay.

Downstairs:

The space includes a full kitchen with butcher block counters, oven, cooktop, and microwave, deep sink, cooking utensils, pots and pans, and full size refrigerator to cook your own meals. The eating space includes a bar height table and the outdoor space has a picnic table.

The living space includes a loveseat and comfy chair to look out through the large windows into the courtyard. There are lots of books to read and games to play. There is no television.

The bathroom is on the downstairs level, and is accessed through a sliding "barn style" door. There is a deep bathtub for soaking after your adventures.

There are remote-controlled blackout shades on the large downstairs windows, and pull down black-out shades on the others.

Upstairs:

The upstairs of the cabin is a standing loft that includes a queen size bed, desk with office chair, storage bench, and comfy reading chair. A favorite feature of the upstairs (besides the cozy bed) is looking out the triangle windows into the treetops.

Where you’ll be

Talkeetna, Alaska, United States

The cabin located in a neighborhood far enough from Talkeetna to avoid the noise from bars and nightlife of downtown, but close enough to be in the village in less than 10 minutes.

The cabin is located within walking distance or a one-minute drive to the Talkeetna Lakes Park for a convenient recreation opportunity for hiking, biking, canoe-ing or SUPing in summer.

Also nearby is the local's favorite, the Flying Squirrel Bakery serving up Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner from a wood-fired oven using locally grown and organic ingredients wherever possible. (15 minute walk, 2 minute drive).

This is in a neighborhood, and you can expect to hear a dog barking or children playing from time to time. The Alaska Railroad is a good distance away, but like everywhere in Talkeetna, you can sometimes hear its whistle. Note that we are close to the Talkeetna Spur.

Hi! I'm Margaret. I moved to Talkeetna a decade ago and fell in love with everything that this unique community has to offer. While in Talkeetna, I love to take advantage of the wonderful trail system located right outside the door by ski and foot, rafting the rivers and creeks, fishing, and flying. There is so much to explore here! I am a small business owner and non-profit organizer. When not working, I am outside as much as possible learning about the state and taking advantage of each moment of daylight. Welcome! I look forward to hosting you.
