Large open-plan home tucked in the fir trees with a beautiful view of the golf course. So close to Downtown Bellevue and a short walk to Kelsey Creek and Wilburton Hill Parks. Gourmet kitchen, lots of windows and dbl doors that open on to a beautiful deck overlooking hole #12 of Glendale Country Club.

The space
As a professor at the University of Washington, I attend several conferences throughout the year (most summers June-Sept I am traveling) . While I am away, I thought it would be nice to offer my house for rent. I'll leave some of my books and articles around the house for your reading pleasure (or if you can't sleep :)

The living room, dining room, and kitchen area is a large open space with vaulted ceilings and impressive territorial views. For more space, on warm days/nights the double back doors swing outward to allow easy access to the deck. The master bedroom, guest bedroom, and office/3rd bedroom (all upstairs) have been recently remodeled with refinished floors, new ceilings, and updated furnishings. Both bathrooms upstairs have been totally remodeled and updated. The 4th and 5th bedrooms downstairs have also been refreshed and updated.

Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire main level (2800 sq feet), 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, mud-room, garage, as well as the downstairs family room. Parts of the lower level (storage areas) are not included. There is available parking in the driveway and on the street.

There is a large deck in the back and covered front porch seating as well. Use of the grill and hot tub (lower patio) are included. Stairs down to the hot tub are located off of the back deck. The hot tub can also be accessed via the back door off of the family room downstairs.

Front door access has no steps. Entering through the garage has 2 steps. Table tennis (ping pong) can be set up and played in the garage. Currently, due to the closure of our gym we have set up a workout room in the garage . . . bench press, squat rack, GHD machine, dumbbells, etc. Guests are welcome to use the workout room.

There is wifi and a Sonos system (music/Pandora/etc.). Over the fireplace in the living room, there is a 55 inch Sony flat screen TV (Comcast). For lovers of vinyl records, the living room includes a turntable and a selection of records. Downstairs there is a 65 inch Sony TV. Grab a drink, open the back doors, put on an album, and experience the pacific northwest.

Wifi: 477 Mbps, upload 41 Mbps.

There is no central AC in the house. We do have portable AC units that we use upstairs in the summer. With the trees and the cooler PNW temperatures, fans have worked fine.

Neighbourhood highlights

Quiet residential neighborhood suitable for walking and bike riding. Short walk to Kelsey Creek Park and in-city hiking, playground, creek, and farm to the south. Another short walk to Bellevue Botanical Gardens and Wilburton Hill Park with sports fields, playground, and hiking to the west. House is on a cul de sac. Easy location for kids.

1.5 miles from all that downtown Bellevue has to offer; shopping, restaurants, movies, live music, etc. Seattle is a short drive across Lake Washington via 520 or I90.

Nearby Walks/Hikes: Hiking: The house sits near the lake-to-lake trail (Lake Washington -- Lake Sammamish) and includes numerous hiking trails in and around the Bellevue Botanical Gardens.

Down the street and to the left is Kelsey Creek Park. There are hiking trails around Kelsey Creek Park and up the hill behind the barn. Kelsey Creek Park is a working farm/barn with cows, horses, chickens, goats, etc. To the west of the house is Wilburton Hill Park which connects to the Bellevue Botanical Gardens. There are trails that connect Kelsey Creek Park with Wilburton and the Botanical Gardens. Just walk down the street a few blocks, take a right, and you will dead end into the Wilburton Hill Park. There are several trails that allow you to enter the park from the east and walk westward to the Botanical gardens.
