Where you’ll be

School Aycliffe, England, United Kingdom

Close to the beautiful Durham and Yorkshire Dales

Within easy access to the Northern Saint Trails.

Northumberland, North Yorkshire and The Lakes are within an easy drive.

School Aycliffe is a small peaceful village just metres from a small nature reserve and open countryside, on the border of County Durham and the borough of Darlington, we are in County Durham. Close to Heighington village and the town of Newton Aycliffe. Our village is very quiet, surrounded by countryside.

Newton Aycliffe is one of the first new towns build after WW2. William Beveridge, the founder of our welfare state, chose Newton Aycliffe as his flagship new town, he even lived there.

Shildon is 2.5 miles away with it’s large railway museum, Locomotion. Bishop Auckland is 5 miles with its castle and new arts centre. Darlington and Durham are 8 and 10 miles. Barnard Castle with Bowes Museum and Teesdale is 14 miles.

There are plenty of countryside walking, with the Pennines just a short drive away.
