A delightful cottage in a beautiful setting. Nature lovers could easily forget to go anywhere else due to the wealth of animal and bird life literally on the doorstep! The red squirrels appeared several times a day and we were even fortunate enough to have a kingfisher land on the bridge for several minutes. Jane & Jim, the hosts, were very welcoming with some lovely added touches of homemade bread and jam. Definitely somewhere we would love to spend time in again.

Rutter Falls is an idyllic place to stay. Sit outside with your cup of tea and the wildlife just carries on doing what it does..enchanting. Jane and Jim are perfect hosts, very friendly & nothing is too much trouble. Take a drive past Gt Asby and in 10 mins you are in beautiful open scenery & then onto the lakes. Top recommendation from us.

This cottage seems remote while being a 10 minute drive to local shop , pub etc. It's in a beautiful setting and very quiet Finding fresh milk and butter in fridge and being given a freshly home baked loaf of bread was a pleasant surprise

We had a great stay and wished we could of stayed longer. It was home from home. Lovely, clean and comfortable accommodation. No difficulties finding beautiful places to walk. In Appleby good places to eat particularly had a lovely meal in the Indian Restuarant.

We have stayed in some lovely properties in great locations but Ford Cottage topped the lot! It is set in such a beutiful location and pulling back the curtains each morning to see a Red Squirrel feeding was one of the highlights. We also really enjoyed walking the footpaths just outsie the door. Particularly the walk along the beck to Appleby taking in the New Inn at Hoff on our return. Jim and Jane were very friendly and helpful hosts.

Having moved back to the UK from Atlanta, GA, USA four years ago, Rutter Falls Holiday Cottages are our new project in the UK, and we look forward to spending more time here. It is a truly beautiful location which we enjoy sharing with our cottage guests. We love dogs, and have two of our own, so welcome both two and four-footed visitors to Rutter Falls.
