Recently renovated guest cottage located in the heart of Lincolnville Beach, this is a studio space with a murphy bed, full bathroom, and a breakfast nook (sink/fridge/microwave - no oven, no stovetop) and beautiful views of Penobscot Bay. It's a quick walk to one of Maine's few sandy beaches and a few restaurants, shops, coffee roaster, and a neighborhood market. Drive a few miles to visit area hiking trails, Mount Battie, and the towns of Belfast, Camden, Rockport, and Rockland.

The space
The heat pump provides heat and a/c when needed (which isn't very often, given the ocean breezes). Electricity is provided by the sun - solar panels on the roof of the main house generate more than enough power to run the house and cottage!

The open floor plan of the cottage allows for beautiful eastern light - if you are an early riser, the sunrise will not disappoint. Maine's motto is "Dirigo", meaning "I lead" - signifying that the sunlight each morning reaches Maine first. We do not have shades or blinds - so if the light bothers you, please bring a sleep mask.

You can see the islands of Isleboro - three miles away - and accessible by ferry or charter. Our cottage is situated just above the ferry terminal and public landing. From the balcony, you'll see the working waterfront - fishing boats, delivery vehicles, folks waiting for the ferry or water taxi.

Guest access
As our guest, you will have full and private access to the cottage. No keys to lose or to return! This property provides secure, keyless entry with an August Smart Lock. You can lock and unlock the door with a personal entry code issued to you for the duration of your stay.

Other things to note
Iron and ironing board are available, upon request.

The Ferry Cottage receives lots of natural light - and an amazing sunrise each morning. If light bothers you, please consider bringing a sleep mask.

The cottage is walking distance to a sandy beach, a few restaurants and pubs. We recommend you stop in at Green Tree Coffee & Teas and Dot's Market too. Most of the businesses in the neighborhood are locally owned and all proudly provide excellent customer service. Lincolnville Beach is a working waterfront with daily ferry service to Islesboro and is home to several fishing vessels.

I am the mother of 2 - now working from home. My family is open to hosting people from all walks of life. We are open to and actively working towards building a better, more inclusive, world for the next generation.
During your stay
We live next door - a family of four - so you may see us out in the yard, working in the garden, or perhaps hanging out on our own deck. We are happy to chat with you, offer a local perspective on the area, but we are also completely fine with giving you all the privacy you desire.

While COVID-19 is still a risk, we will keep our distance. That said, if you need anything, let us know and we'll help remotely if possible. If not, we will take appropriate precautions (masking, social distancing) and help you in person.
