This home has a magnificent view of the IXL ranch from the oversized deck. There is a large oak tree with a fire pit for relaxing after a day of antiquing, fishing, etc. You can even bring your own horse. Come enjoy the country!

The space

This home is a great get away from the city. It is close to many cute antique towns, including Bellville, Warrenton and Round Top. There are horse stalls and a private paddock available if you have your own horse. We also have trails to ride or hike on and several fishing ponds. We have recently added a fenced in area in the front of the home for those who bring dogs.

Guest access

Guests will have access to the over 200 acres of land, 3 fishing ponds, 2 riding arenas, trails and other facilities (if you have your own horse), grill and fire pit.

Interaction with guests

We will be on site so if guests need anything during their stay, just let us know.

Other things to note

Upon arrival, you will have samples of our freshly ground coffee, farm fresh eggs and handmade soaps.

We want Rancho Texcelente IXL Equestrian Center to be a great experience for you.

This is a full time ranching operation and we are a close family place; please behave with that in mind.

Please respect your surroundings and observe these policies:

oLimit alcohol consumption and drink responsibly.
oNo smoking in the houses or other facilities and only discriminately on the porches.
oWe welcome pets (we have dogs, cats, chickens, cows, and no one knows how many horses), but please either keep your dog(s) on a leash or within close proximity to yourself.
oDo not damage plant life or animal life--- observe livestock from a distance and avoid contact with all animals, domestic or wild.
oBuild campfires only with permission of ranch management.
oPlease keep your litter contained and before leaving, put all trash in the garbage bin located to the left of the barn near the trailer parking area.
oNo discharge of fireworks or firearms unless OK’d by management.
oPlease practice catch and release fishing unless you will definitely eat the fish you catch.
oAvoid ranch equipment and other tools.
oSupervise your children at all times.
oBeware of snakes and other wild critters—THIS IS TEXAS!
oLeave the facilities and grounds in a neat and clean condition. The dishes and coffee pot should be cleaned and the trash taken to the dumpster. However, we prefer you do not make the beds when your stay is over—we will wash the laundry.

We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining our operation.

We have chosen to open our gates to guests.
We will do our best in helping you enjoy your time here so you will look forward to a return visit and we will look forward to having you back.

Thanks!

Carrie's place was wonderful. If you enjoy the outdoors, fishing, wildlife, and a quite place to stay... this is your place. There are Paso Fino horses everywhere. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch with a frosty beverage while watching the horses graze. For you bass fishing fans, I caught a 3.5 pounder in one of the ponds. I released him so he is still there for you to catch:-). I would recommend you bring some food to snack on because there are no restaurants or convince stores close by. Great place! I plan on staying again when I am out that way.

This is a lovely country place set in a horse pasture with birds singing, fresh air, horses nibbling grass and playing and a wonderful wide porch to enjoy it all! We even had fresh eggs to cook for breakfast. The house is comfortable, clean, and supplied with all the necessities for a restful visit!! We are already checking our calendar for our next visit!!

The ranch house is a great way to get away from the busy city life. Quiet and relaxing, we enjoyed watching the horses graze nearby, fishing at the pond, and simply sitting out on the porch taking it all in.

We had a girls weekend here and it was perfect for the four of us. We had everything we needed. It was very cool being on a working ranch seeing all the horses and the view from the porch is so relaxing. Carrie was great with communication and the farm fresh eggs were wonderful in our breakfast tacos! We would love to come back!

BEAUTIFUL. Even though we were about half an hour out from Round Top for antiques week it was so worth it! The property is absolutely gorgeous and so private. We never ran into anyone else on the ranch--other than plenty of horses. Carrie was great about responding to any questions I had and was so relaxed about checking in/out. We would absolutely stay here on a future trip.
