The Loft is a unique two-storey dwelling overlooking 15 acres of natural bushland and gardens. The Loft offers a truly unforgettable eco-experience set amongst the beautiful grounds of Greenough Nature Stay . This self-built wood & rammed earth home features a private alfresco area where you can unwind. Relax & recharge yourself, get back to nature .
Dogs are very welcome to stay however there is a maximum of two dogs with the cost being $25 per dog per night

The space
Hand-built by host and artisan Max, The Loft is designed to offer a private getaway in the charming historic town of Greenough, just outside Geraldton. Set amongst 15 acres of native bushland, you can unwind and get back to nature with fresh eggs from our chickens and ducks and lush vegetable garden.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire grounds, plus laundry room and vegetable garden when in season. Max is available to offer tours of the adjoining woodworking workshop. One-on-one or small group tuition is available on request.

Neighbourhood highlights

We are 2 minutes from the Greenough River where there is a short walking trail Boolungu (Bootenal) Spring, information on Indigenous history in the area and a place from which to see the many birds that call the river home. We are roughly a 15 minute drive from the Greenough Wildlife Park and the Hampton Arms where you can stop for a hearty lunch or dinner.

Max’s Greenough Nature stay is approximately 14 km south of Geraldton on the Brand highway on a hobby farm. It is dog and cat friendly.

Abundant birdlife in this nature setting and the sunrise and sunsets are superb.

The owner Max, will also advise you where the best surfing and fishing opportunities are around the Greenough river and local beaches.

For those who like to hike or go for a bike ride; Greenough Nature Trail, a 17 km round trip mountain bike/ or walking trail is just across the road. It follows the river to the ocean then returns in a loop on the opposite side of the river, packed with local birdlife.

In addition, five kilometers away is the Greenough Museum and the Historic Greenough Settlement and Cafe.

From our rural property you can regularly see flocks of black gangangs, white cockatoos, galahs, Australian white ibius as well as other bird life such as willy wagtails, currawongs , magpies, crows, hawks, singing honey eaters, doves , swallows and many more species of small bird life. There are also varieties of lizards that quietly make their presence known. You are in nature.

For those wanting a special evening that includes watching the sun set over the Indian Ocean, dinner cooked in a solar cooker coupled with a digeridoo performance overlooking the beach, our neighbour offers such an experience.

A very artistic individual who loves creating and constructing. It is a pleasure for me to share my home with others and to meet travellers, talk and laugh. I have two children and have a love of the outdoors, surf, fishing, walking and everything that nature offers.
