Peace and quiet

This home is in a quiet area.

Room in a hut

Your own room in a home, plus access to shared spaces.
One of our four glamping pods we have on site with 2 single beds, shower and toilet, a mini kitchen with all your basic needs to cook with, your own decking area and a shared fire pit to enjoy BBQs or toasting marshmallows. Not to mention access to our 17 acres of croft land for you to explore with red deer that often come down to feed near the pods. You only need to bring yourself and enjoy the beauty of the North Highlands!

The space
Our onsite features include a large caravan where our visitors can hang wet clothing to drip dry, an honesty shop with all the basics and a large fire pit to sit around and try your hand at one of the BBQs. The pods come with a single gas cooker, a bathroom with shower, toilet and a sink plus a fridge to keep your milk cold. Our site has 17 acres for all to explore with stunning views of Ben Klibreck and the sound of the River Naver streaming down the valley opposite.

Are you a photographer looking for that perfect shot of rutting stags or birds of prey flying high above the hills? Perhaps a history buff tracing the story of the Highlands to a Ben baggier (mountain climber) upon the Big Four of Klibreck (Hope, More and Royal - all within a 30 to 50-minute drive). Maybe you're more into stunning beaches like Farr, Skerray or Melvich that are all within a 20 to 30 minute drive of the site. Of course, you could just enjoy the peace and quiet, from birdsong through to a still night spent star-gazing and, if you're lucky, catch a glimpse of the Northern lights. Here, there's something for everyone!

We provide you with all the ingredients you need to cook yourself a large full Scottish breakfast. You will get 4 rashers of bacon, two locally-sourced sausages, a tin of beans, two fresh tomatoes (or a tin, depending on the season!), 2 eggs from our own hens, local made black pudding and tattie scones! Alternatively, we offer 2 selection boxes of breakfast cereal with milk and bread and butter with jam or marmalade.
Both options come with tea, coffee and juice which will be topped up for each night of your stay. We cater for gluten or lactose free, vegetarian and vegan, just email us your preferences!

Guest access
We have 17 acres for you to explore - just watch out for the Winn bushes (spiky buggers). You're also always welcome to come up to the main house and say hello!
You have private access to your own pod but share the rest of the land and facilities with the other guests and the family who live on site.

During your stay
You are staying on a working croft (small farm) and we are usually around at the main house or just a phone call away.

Other things to note
No loud noise after 11pm please.

Neighbourhood highlights

We live on the Strath, a long, sparse village alongside a river in the North Highlands. Houses are few and far between and the views are spellbinding. The neighbors, though few, are very friendly and the community up here is close. There are also lots and lots of cows & sheep.

If you wish to go out for a meal then here in the North Highlands there are lots of fantastic restaurants within easy driving distance. Just ask us for more info!

Business
Hello! I am the keeper of the pods here at Wee Hoose Glamping. I live here along with my lovely wife Elaine (the true Scot among us), our son Zach and our dog, Cap the collie! I'm originally from London but we moved up here a few years ago to finally live out our country glamping dream. My hobbies include being a general handyman, looking after our chickens, watching countless history documentaries and enjoying a good strong cup of tea to wash it all down with (teabag left in of course). I'm very much looking forward to meeting you all - come and join us for a taste of that good old-fashioned Highland hospitality!
