Are you a female traveling solo, in need of comfortable lodging? Stay in my cute, cozy spare room! Breakfast & travel tips from a native Chicagoan. I'm a single gal with friendly cats, clean bathroom & walking distance to public transportation.
My building and the neighborhood are friendly and quiet. This is a wonderful working class neighborhood with a fabulous array of cultures, languages...and restaurants! I have a nice little porch and in summer there's a lovely garden in the back patio, full of flowers and chairs to relax in. The kitchen is cozy but fully stocked with equipment if you like to cook, and the bookshelves are at your disposal. Free wifi here, and Starbucks is also a few blocks away. Shared living spaces (bathroom and kitchen).
Patio, porch, books, dining room, living room, kitchen and bathroom, guest room. Host bedroom is off limits.
Interaction with guests
I'm happy to provide info, directions, and fun suggestions for your visit to Chicago! I'll communicate with you about my comings and goings. I am glad to get to know guests and talk over a cup of tea, but if you need 'introvert time' instead, that is fine with me!
Other things to note
You'll want to sleep with your bedroom door closed, because my cats like to visit. They won't make noise or bother you though: they just like people.

Check-in time is 5pm M-F and 3pm Sat/Sun. If you need a different check-in time, send me a message and I'll see if I can make adjustments. Check-out time is Noon. I'm glad to host my guests but not additional people. Quiet time in the apartment is 11 pm-7am. If we've arranged in advance that you're coming in late, that's understandable. Please notify me if you are returning to the apartment after 11pm.
I enjoy hosting because I travel solo a lot, and it's always nice to offer someone a home-like environment...and to hear their travel stories! I'm a friendly introvert with a love of reading, I'm involved in music and human service work, and I'm close to my family who are mostly local. As a traveler, I enjoy camping, hostels, nice hotels and just depends on the trip! As a host, I like helping my guests find their way around the city, but I also give them their space since I know what it's like to need quiet time.
