About this listing
Price is for a non-AC double room. There are five rooms available.
Lal has made the upper part of his family’s home available for guests. Clean and spacious, it has four rooms with attached bathrooms, hot water, a kitchen, a terrace and a nice living room for guests to enjoy. Lal’s home is 50 meters away from the water, which makes it a perfect point from where to start a lagoon trip.
Interaction with guests
Lal is both your host and owner of the house. He was a bit shy when we took the picture, but we know him as a warm, welcoming host who knows the area well and can give you lots of tips about where to go and what to do. He can help arrange some tours and can provide delicious local food upon request.
Neverbeen offers a wide variety of rare homes off the beaten track, from fisherman's huts and tree houses to heritage homes and tea estates. Our team hand-picks and visits every home and meet all hosts to make ensure guests have a positively memorable stay in places they've never been.
We provide travellers and home owners in challenging locations with access to one another, by offering communication services, online marketing services and tourism training, so that locals can make a living off their home and travellers can get to stay in places they have never been.
As such, Neverbeen works for a world in which everyone has the chance to earn income by renting out their home, regardless of language, internet access and tourism experience.
In Sri Lanka, Dishan manages our growing group of homes in cooperation with our scouts, while Rohan creates listings and provides service. In Amsterdam, Marten works out international growth plans. Our team of in-house programmers is constantly developing the platform itself and Ernst & Young does our finances.
The first country we're active in is Sri Lanka, a beautiful country with many undiscovered places to stay. Due to it recently having opened up to tourism after decades of conflict, it is a great place to start and pilot the Neverbeen concept. We plan to expand to ten countries before the end of 2017.
