Hammock-House- An urban oasis of relaxation, in a gorgeous colonial house in the centro. Santa Ana area, 15 minutes from Santa Lucia Parque and steps to Paseo de Montejo. Best location in the centro.

The space
Wow, this is the best location you could imagine, so close to the Paseo de Montejo, great for sunset strolls, jogging and bicycling. One of the quaintest Starbucks on the planet is a short walk. Close by is Paseo 60, a modern hotel and shopping complex with a large outdoor square that plays live music most nights and includes a gourmet food hall. Also nearby is Parque Santa Lucia where you will find many good restaurants and local entertainment. The house itself was owned by a local family for many generations and was a Hammock factory, we have kept that legacy alive with our name and with the art you will find as well as the several handmade hammocks hanging throughout the house. The house retains the original handmade pasta floors and beautiful Moor inspired arches. The garden out back is large and has a very large and fruitful Mango tree and an impressively tall palm tree as well as other native plants and flowers. This is a tranquil base to explore the city and to relax. Both bedrooms have air conditioning.

The Starbucks is close, and has an amazing patio overlooking the Paseo. I love to slouch back and take advantage of their free wifi while sipping my late. Paseo 60 is very close and great for food or a beer or wine while listening to music. Trattoria La Pasta is on the Paseo and close by as well, serving up delicious Italian food. Bicycling on the Paseo on Sundays when they close it off is a really nice way to see the city from another perspective. Walking to the Plaza Grande, it will take you 20 minutes but it's a nice walk that takes you by the Santa Ana and the Santa Lucia parks and along the way you will see all the interesting galleries and shops. Walmart is also nearby where you could shop for groceries. Rosas & Xocolate Spa is also nearby if you are in the mood for a spa afternoon.
