My husband and I are both painters and left Australia to live in France in 1993. In 2009 we travelled to the Tarn-et-Garonne and fell for a beautiful small chateau in need of a major renovation. We were drawn to the beautiful dressed stone walls, unusual for the area, and its large window openings, also uncharacteristic of buildings of that era. It had a unique combination of elegance and rustic simplicity. Our aim is to create a comfortable and calm environment that allows the beautiful bones of these buildings to shine, and to frame the bucolic landscape it sits in . We have lived in and renovated 3 other homes in London and the Loire valley and have created our ideal escape on this Hilltop, cooking with the beautiful produce from the region, and painting in its gorgeous surroundings.
