Utstein Lodge is beautifully located down by Klostervågen at Utstein Farm. The farm surrounds Utstein Monastery and constitutes the majority of the island of Utstein. Utstein is a protected cultural environment and has a special national value with the cultural-historical, landscape and agricultural elements that give the area its special character. At Utstein there are animals on the farmland and cultural pasture all year round and limited access to traffic. It is possible to see/participate in the farm operations. There are many hiking opportunities, short distance to Preikestolen and Kjerag.
The space
The house is south facing and with its own beautiful garden. Klostervågen with swimming opportunities just below the house. There are unique and historic surroundings on Utstein. Just beyond Persahuset is Utstein Kloster, Norway's only preserved medieval monastery. We also have garden sales at the garden with local food and drink, as well as design and craftsmanship, in a building that in 2019 was nominated for the EU Prize for Contemporary Architecture. Recently renovated Utstein Kloster Hotel is within walking distance and has a bar/restaurant, and Fjøløy Fort is a public hiking area well arranged for visitors. There is a grocery store about 9 km from the house. Distance to Stavanger is about 25 min by car.
