Welcome to our Rough Cut Hut located on the beautiful Cumberland Plateau. Get a primitive off-grid and unplugged experience that gives you the opportunity to become refreshed and recharged as you enjoy the natural, peaceful environment of the outdoors.
Located less than five minutes from beautiful Ozone Falls, our cabin is located a mile down our private driveway from the state highway. This is a very private space nestled in the trees with access to hiking trails and a beautiful creek.

The space
Our cabin is located on our private piece of land giving you a secluded space for you to roam and enjoy the property. Enjoy the solitude of the mountains and lack of noise and light pollution that comes with the area.

AMENITIES
While there is no electricity in the cabin, we have limited solar power that will put out necessary light, allow you to charge your phones and play music via bluetooth. There is no running water but we have fresh water available for you to drink, wash your hands, etc. We have a stand-alone outhouse that is next to the cabin. We also have a solar-powered fan available to use. We also have a propane heater available for your use.

FOOD
During your stay, we will provide you with coffee tea and light snacks. We have a charcoal grill available for you to use if you choose to roast hot dogs and smores. In addition we have a fire pit you are welcome to use as well.

CAMPING SPOTS
In addition the cabin, we have cleared several camping spots that are available to use.

PETS
We are pet-friendly at the Rough Cut Hut, but do ask that pets remain on leashes as we have our dogs that like to roam the property. Please do not allow them to be on the bed.

INTERACTION WITH GUESTS
While we want to respect guest privacy we will show you to the cabin upon arrival to help get you familiarized with the space. After that your stay will be as private as you like but we will be available to assist you with whatever needs and questions you may have. If you require assistance getting a fire started we are more than happy to help.

HIKING/CREEK
While staying at the cabin you will access to miles of hiking trails on our private property as well as a private swimming hole located a short walk away from the cabin. In addition, there are other state parks and hiking trails that easily accessible including Ozone Falls, Cumberland Mountain state park, Burgess Falls, Frozen Head, historic Rugby and many more.

This is a hiker's paradise! Our cabin is located on the beautiful Cumberland Plateau located in between Nashville and Knoxville. We are an hour west of Knoxville and about two hours east from Nashville. We are a short drive from the Cookeville area (45 min) which has many hiking trails and waterfalls including Virgin Falls, Burgess Falls, Cummins Falls, Rock Island, Piney Falls, Cane Creek Falls and Twin Falls. We are also less than five minutes from beautiful Ozone Falls. The Cumberland Trail also has hundreds of miles of hiking trails available at your disposal such as Black Mountain, Cumberland Mountain state park, Daddy's Creek section and much more.
