Terrible experience. I believe the description is misleading. There is an access issue to the house. The track is not a 'bit bumpy' it's very difficult to get up. If it had not said that 'everyone gets up' then we Wouldn't have attempted it. We had a new, powerful car and an experienced driver. The unsealed track is not the problem it is the private driveway which it seems is shared by neighbours whom I'm told don't get on. Geoff even admitted to me he has a restraining order out on one of them. we encountered one who was 'not well' geoff said and was incredibly verbally abusive to me and my husband in front of my child when we got bogged. Because we were connected to geoff. It was very unpleasant and we worried for the safety of our vehicle. It took two neighbours to tow us up/get us down. We could not make it the full way. We took photos but it was dusk and they do not do it justice. The closest we got was just outside his property but the car got stuck with one wheel in the air. The tremendously kind neighbour who helped us down not only offered for us to stay at his place he told me he towed 2 others recently. Geoff said that non 4wd cars make it up there but we struggled with a car with holiday provisions. I don't know why the access issue is not mentioned in the previous reviews i can only think that it has deteriorated with weather over the months in between. Street view on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) seems to be a long time ago as road and fence has changed. Geoff himself was pleasant and dog was friendly. The house was clean and looked lovely. We got up by foot and did not want to cart our things up the hill. We Are calm people and not alarmist and I've never had a bad Experience in the 8 years ive been using airbnb. I informed geoff we couldn't stay. He seemed disappointed for us and offered to help drive the car up but we could not risk any more damage to our car nor risking not having help in the morning from neighbours. It is in a tranquil spot and the house is lovely. If you have a 4wd you wont have a problem.

Geoff house is in the most picturesque setting up in the hills in Tasmania Southern region, 25 mins drive from Hobart on beautiful scenic roads. Geoff is a great host and a most interesting person, his house is warm and comfortable. If you like intelligent conversation this is the place to come, also if dogs are your thing then black German Sheppard Harley will be right up your street. I'm already booked into stay again and looking forward to it!!

Geoff's home is absolutely beautiful with amazing scenic views and plenty of land for a lovely peaceful stay not far from the city. My boyfriend and I stayed for one night in a very spacious, clean and comfortable room with our own bathroom (which was also very clean). We enjoyed sitting out of the decking and managed to spot a few wallabies at dusk! Geoff was very friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived and gave us some great advice for onward travel as well as being great at accommodating our arrival time and giving us thorough directions too. Geoff allowed us use of shared facilities including the kitchen, which again was clean and well equipped. Would definitely recommend a stay here in this idyllic Air BnB.

Geoff was a great host, very helpful and hospitable. He was keen to know our itinerary and give us suggestions based on local knowledge. The location is a bit out of Hobart, but we knew that, and was a pleasant enough drive with some stunning views. It's very quiet up there and the accommodation was just as described, simple yet comfortable. We were able to cook our own meals in the kitchen, and had our own bathroom which was good. The only challenge I'll mention, which some others have mentioned also, was the driveway. You don't quite need a 4wd to get up there, but it was a slight challenge in a Corolla, if you got a decent enough run up it was fine, but it is quite rutted and you do need to be careful and drive slowly.

Really gorgeous rural retreat. Great place to have an evening picnic and Tassie wine on the veranda, as you wait for the wallabies come into the yard. Really nice place to stay and Harley, the dog, is just gorgeous!

Geoff seemed like a nice guy, and the accommodation itself was clean and welcoming. However we weren't aware of the poor and difficult conditions of the driveway beforehand and there was no way we could get our small rental car up the driveway. If you are booking this accommodation please take this into consideration.

Thanks geoff for the lovely peaceful quiet stay. Lovely scenic drive in and out. Wish we had more time to walk to the falls. Thanks for having the room nice and warm for us upon arrival. It was perfect.

I built my dream home in 2013 (ex Sydney and Perth) and live here with my black German Shepherd Harley, who loves everyone. I also have a couple as tenants which helps to give a family atmosphere to the home.
The natural beauty of the south and wilderness areas drew me here and there's always something new to see and do. I explore the back roads and wilderness on my adventure motorbike.
Close proximity to the "civilisation" of Hobart and and Huonville and the beauty of the Huon Valley are important to me.
I have three kids who visit me regularly (from Perth) and friends from all over dropping by to get a taste of this wonderful lifestyle.
As a host I'm easy going and happy to provide any information to help guests make the most of their stay.
