The space

Welcome to this colorful & eclectic bungalow in the heart of the Cherrywood neighborhood in East Austin!

You will find lots of privacy because this room is located in the back of the house on the bottom floor with a private entrance. Feel free to enjoy the rest of the house and soak in the upcycled decor and cozy living room.

You'll have full access to the kitchen if you want to cook some meals, have a snack, or enjoy a nice cup of tea or coffee. Enjoy your meal inside in the dining area or in the normally fabulous Austin weather with our outdoor area; a shady landscaped front yard with comfortable seating & tables. Need to do some laundry? No problem! You'll also have access to a washer & dryer as well.

We also offer free WiFi if you need to get some work done. Say hi to our friendly cat, Barley, who would love to snuggle if you're down for that.

Guest access

There's plenty of street parking to take advantage of. Once at the house, walk down the driveway towards the garage and your private back-of-the-house entrance is the second door on the right.

*If you're more comfortable with parking down the deep driveway, let me know and that can be arranged.

Interaction with guests

I love interacting with guests but also respect that most guests booking a private space are looking for a private experience. If you have any questions about Austin or need some suggestions of places around town to check out, please ask! I love sharing my favorites with others.

We do have multiple rooms to rent so it's possible you'll run into other guests during your stay. There is a shared bathroom in the middle of the house. Kitchen and other areas of the house are shared by guests and the owner of the house. If you're looking for even more privacy, check out our full-house rental as an option!

Hannah's house is in a great location, just East of downtown. It is in a quiet, beautiful residential neighborhood. It was a great place to rest after busy days and nights full of exploring, eating, swimming, live music and drinking. Uber rides were 5-10 minutes from most of the city. The home is well decorated, with a lot of fun vintage wall art and old interesting trinkets. Its also very very clean and, I think, a great value for the price. We did not meet Hannah, as she was out of town. Even so, she was very responsive and proactive in making sure we got settled in ok. Her friend Shelby was also around and was very friendly and helpful in suggesting places to go explore. Overall a great experience!

Vacationed in Austin with my mom. We both really enjoyed staying with Hannah. Her house is awesome. Very unique and comfy. She was very nice and had loads of suggestions for great places to go around town. Definitely would stay with her again!

It was great staying at Hannah's place! I got to meet her parents as luck would have it as well, the whole family is very nice. I really liked the funky retro aesthetic in the house and was pleasantly surprised that even with renovations going on in the kitchen starting at 8am, we couldn't hear anything from the back room where we slept.

I'm a chef, baker and registered dietitian. I'm about to leave a tech company for which I've been an executive chef for five years to open a bakery in East Austin. You'll probably get to taste some of my R&D! I consider myself a New Yorker, but I've traveled and lived abroad for much of my life. I love meeting new people and I'd love to tell you all the things that I love about Austin.
