This newly built gorgeous little cabin was inspired by lodges that we've visited in East Africa. It is an oasis of peacefulness and romance! With a gourmet kitchen, filtered water, HEPA air filter unit, queen size bed, Japanese soaking tub & walk-in shower, zippy WIFI, comfortable workspace, and a 65" smart TV w/ Netflix & Prime you may never want to leave! Enhanced cleaning is performed between guests. Located at the end of a rural cul-de-sac and walking distance to beautiful Lake Hodges.

The space
This unique little home is a stand alone located behind our main house. It is filled with handmade touches and everything to try to make your stay as comfortable as possible. "Finch Hatton", as the little cabin is called, is next level beautiful! Only 15 minutes from the San Diego Zoo's Safari Park, 30 minutes drive to the beach and 5 minutes from Stone Brewery, Felicita Park and Kit Carson Park. Excellent restaurants are nearby currently with outdoor dining, take out and delivery only. Local wineries in Highland Valley Wine Country are a scenic half hour drive away...but check in advance to see if they are taking reservations and receiving guests.

Guest access
This stand alone little cabin is all yours! With a private entrance there are patios off of each side of the house for you to relax with cup of coffee and a newspaper or a glass of wine and a book...

Other things to note
Our property is fairly rural and we keep chickens, which also includes a very happy rooster that joyfully greets each morning! Two large Sulcata tortoises have full run of the grounds and we also have a sweet little Havanese dog we call "Auggie". And then there are two cats, both named Frank...

Because of the Cedar wood construction of the cabin, we request that no open flame, or candles be used.

Parking is in the driveway or on the street, just outside the house.
All access is single level, except one small four inch step to enter the front door.

We would like to make your stay as personal as possible so we please feel free to let us know how we might customize the little house to make you comfy. If you'd like, we will be happy to provide "room service", if you can let us know 24 hours in advance. Meals will be delivered to your door at the time that you specify for you to plate and enjoy in the privacy of your little house. Dinner plates are in a plate warmer on the counter and all serving utensils are there along with placemats and clothe napkins.... Your host is a retired personal chef and happy to cook for you at an additional cost... If this is something you would be interested in, we can discuss meals, your likes, cost and any allergies or preferences you might have.

Our neighborhood is quiet with a rural feel, there is no public transport nearby and no restaurants or shopping to walk to...but lots of hiking paths and a beautiful nearby lake.
Once you are off of the main street please drive slowly down our roads, as we are in a "slowed traffic neighborhood"...especially please drive carefully on our cul del sac...
