Neighbourhood highlights

The farmhouse is exactly midway between the city of Inverness and iconic Loch Ness (10 minutes either way) and despite its remote location is only 25 minutes from the airport and 15 minutes from the nearest train station.
Local pubs, restaurants and shops are a 10-minute drive away or can also be accessed by foot or bike from the towpath at the bottom of the garden which will take you into Inverness or up to Dochgarroch which is the gateway to Loch Ness. ( 15 – 20 minutes walk.) Jacobite cruises depart from Dochgarroch up the Loch several times a day and you will find there the award winning An Talla shop and restaurant. The Loch Ness Country House hotel at the top of the road (10 minute walk) by the main A82 offers a gourmet food and drink experience. A short 10 minute drive into town on the same road will take you to another award winning, but affordable, restaurant, The Rocpool. Nearby you will be able to rock and party at Jonny Foxes and Hootenanny to name but two of Inverness's live music venues. There are of course 100s of restaurants to choose from in Inverness offering a wide range of local and international cuisine.
There are several famous golf courses within a ½ hour drive and of course the area abounds with historic castles, whiskey distilleries and fabulous walks and cycle paths not only along the canal, but also on the Great Glen Way which runs behind the property. Canoeing, leisure cruises, horse riding and many other amenities are also right on the doorstep. In addition, to the more retail minded, woollen mills, tweed and cashmere shops are all over the area.
The house is an ideal point to explore the rest of the Highlands and Islands
