Victoria Cottage is located in an area renowned for outstanding natural beauty and is a great location for walkers, canoeists, climbers, cyclists and families. The cottage boasts a log fire, stunning views, hot tub hire, loan of bath robes and an array of current magazines.

Two pubs, butterfly museum, mini arcade, crazy golf, boat rides and shop a are a short walk away from the cottage.

Victoria Cottage was built 1700’s and so please understand that is quaint, quirky and very cosy.

The space
Pet friendly, two bedroomed cottage plus a bed settee in living room. We can host up to 4 people( comfortably, 2 extra adults using bed settee would be an uncomfortable squeeze!) Includes: sitting room with log fire, modern equipped kitchen, conservatory, cloakroom/ shower room, two bedrooms and a modern bathroom.
The mature outdoor space boasts stunning views, a hot tub (extra cost - £60 extra for two nights)) and garden furniture.
Situated equidistance of Monmouth and Ross-on-Wye both offering shopping facilities, dining and leisure pursuits within easy access to the A40 with excellent commuter links to the M5 and M4. It is NOT a party house, instead it is a relaxing cosy old cottage.
We can also offer the gas Ooni Koda Pizza Oven for hire (£25 for two nights including gas and 4 dough balls - plus £50 deposit.)

Other things to note
Although there is sleeping for 6 people, we would recommend that it’s no more than 4 adults and possibly 2 small children. There is no room for extra guests. 6 adults would prove to be uncomfortable, a tight squeeze and might hinder a lovely cosy experience. Please note that we would cancel your stay if it was reported that you had more than 6 guests staying.
However, should you choose to use the bed settee, let us know and we will provide the duvet and bedding for an additional £10 to cover laundry costs.
This is not a party house and we would cancel your stay should we have complaints that a party is taking place during your stay.
Although we allow dogs, we prefer to only accommodate 1. It must not go upstairs, sit on furniture and you must Hoover before leaving and collect any poo from garden. We charge £15 per dog.
We charge £60 for 2 nights rental of the hot tub for 4-6 people to use, and £100 refundable deposit for the tub. £25 for OOni Koda rental plus £50 deposit. On booking, please request a rental, paid directly to us. During your stay, we might need to come to do a dip test of the tub, we will use the garden gate and will not enter the house. It will not affect your stay.
It is roadside parking.
We will always aim to offer earlier check in times. Please ask, and if we can do it, we will!

Neighbourhood highlights

There are two local pubs, both serving food and both less that a five- minute walk from Victioria Cottage. The bank of the River Wye is just a two- minute walking distance and brags magnificent views- including site of Netflix original ‘Sex Education’!
Hop in the car and 13 minutes away you will find Symonds Yat Rock reputed as the best view in Britain.
Other local tourist attractions include Canoe-the-Wye, regular ancient hand pull ferry crossings and popular cyclist path Peregrine Path perfect for all ages all within walking distance from the cottage.
Slightly further afield is Beechenhurst (22 minute drive) the site of Go Ape, scenic walks and cycle trails. Also 22 minutes drive is the popular TV and film location Puzzlewood best known for its features in Star Wars, Merlin and Doctor Who. Both of these locations are perfect for family outings.
There are boat rides and great facilities for you to enjoy at the local camp site (ice-cream shop 1 min walk.)
You can even hire boats and kayaks at the Ye Old Ferry Inn (few minutes walk away.)
Monmouth and Ross on Wye are les than a ten minute car ride away and boast great fish and chip shops, pubs, restaurants and shops.)
For wine lovers or those who would like to get to know English wine better we can highly recommend a visit to Three Choirs Vineyard with wine tastings, tours and brasserie open all year round (27 minutes drive).
