Tucked away on a quiet street in the village of Montmartre in the 18th Arrondissement of Paris, this charming one-bedroom apartment makes the perfect home base for couples or families for your Parisian holiday.

Tucked away on a quiet street in the village of Montmartre in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, this charming one-bedroom apartment makes the perfect home base for couples or families for your Parisian holiday.

The apartment is located in lovely Parisian 19th century residential building. Walk less than 15 minutes to the Sacre Coeur basilica, and along the way enjoy cafes, restaurants and boutiques which abound in this typically Parisian neighborhood. For families, you can walk to the neighborhood park at Square Carpeaux in less than 2 minutes, and we will happily provide a baby travel crib for you as well - just ask!

Tall French windows in the living room and bedroom open from this bright flat onto the building’s inner courtyard, eliminating street noise. Recent renovations have transformed the space into a cozy, inviting haven that will be a peaceful retreat after a long day of sightseeing. Everything has been carefully chosen to best accommodate our guests.

The spacious master bedroom is furnished with a king-sized bed. A decorative corner fireplace adorns the bedroom. A large armoire provides plenty of space to store your belongings.

The living room has a high-quality sofa bed, which offers families versatility, converting either into two single beds or to one double bed.

The wall-to-wall bookcase opposite the sofa holds a DVD player and flat screen TV and plenty of books and DVDs to browse through. The TV has cable television with a few international news channels in English. The storage unit in the bookcase also provides additional space for those sleeping in the living to store their belongings.

If you're here to work or study or just want to catch up with friends and family back home, you can easily stay connected via the WiFi internet with our high-speed connection, using your own computer, tablet or phone to connect wirelessly.

A small dining area separates the living room from the kitchen. The table can be expanded on both sides to give plenty of room to happy diners.

Our custom-built open kitchen is classy and efficient, with a granite countertop workspace. The kitchen includes a refrigerator with freezer area, two burner stove, clothes washer, and a combination oven/microwave.

Off of the living room area is a small-yet-functional bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink with a mirror. It's a truly Parisian experience to see how we adapt small spaces. The apartment shower has hot water on demand and good water pressure.

Guests have access to the entire apartment. The apartment is well-equipped for the traveler with toiletries provided, plug adapters, plenty of towels, coffee, tea and all the little things that make traveling a breeze! The building itself has two security doors, and the apartment is located in a building on a quiet interior courtyard.

Ruben or Paula handles all emailing with the guests directly and manage the rentals of the apartment. Normally Paula meets the guests personally on their arrival day. If not, one of our professional rental management colleagues will greet the guests and give them an orientation of the apartment and neighborhood and answer any questions guests may have. Guests will have a phone number of the greeter and my email address should any problems arise. There is a welcome book in the apartment with information such as the WiFi code and how to use all appliances.

For foodies, this is a perfect neighborhood in which to go shopping “à la française”. Visiting the cheese shop, the butcher and the green grocer is French tradition! But don't worry - you'll find plenty of modern supermarkets, too. The apartment’s location is within a short distance of rue Damremont’s boutiques, “fromageries” (cheese shops), “boulangeries” (bakeries), and “patisseries” (pastry shops). It's also a quick walk to Avenue de St. Ouen’s daily outdoor food market, and the twice-weekly market on rue Ordener. Whether you choose to prepare your meals yourself or to partake of the many restaurant offerings, you can be sure to find your heart’s desire in this neighborhood.

For families, there is a park less than a two-minute walk from the apartment at Square Carpeaux! Your children will be happy to have space to run and play at any time of the day. There is a large sandbox as well as playground equipment for younger children. You'll also find ping pong tables, a basketball court and plenty of benches for relaxing in the sun or shade.

ARRIVAL DETAILS: Arrival details are extremely important to ensuring you are met promptly on your arrival day. Arrival details will be requested at the time of reservation and again, 30 days prior to arrival, and if necessary, 14 days prior to arrival. If arrival details are not provided by 14 days before arrival, we cannot guarantee a timely meeting at the apartment and you will be met when the greeter is able to fit you into their schedule. We ask that guests understand that greeters do not live in the apartment buildings and plan their schedules around your arrival details, so please be respectful of their time by providing your arrival details as early as possible and keeping us updated with any changes.
If you are arriving by PLANE, please provide: airline, flight number & scheduled flight arrival time.
If you are arriving by TRAIN, please provide: your train arrival time & train arrival station.
If you are arriving by CAR, please provide: a meeting time at the apartment.
Additionally, for guests arriving by car: A 30 Euro late fee will be charged to the guest for each additional hour the greeter has to wait, should the guest not arrive within a maximum of one hour of their scheduled arrival time. We advise that car arrivals add sufficient time into their planning for traffic, breaks, etc. to ensure they will be on-time to their scheduled meeting at the apartment.

DAMAGE DEPOSIT: A 300 Euro damage deposit is required on all reservations. The amount of the damage deposit shall in no way limit the tenant's financial responsibility for damage or deterioration made to the apartment during the tenant's stay. The damage deposit will be held until you have vacated the apartment, and we have confirmed that any breakage or damage (normal wear-and-tear excluded), lost keys, out-of-the-ordinary cleaning charges and excessive phone bills have been paid for. You are responsible for maintaining the apartment in tidy condition. Apartments left in an unreasonably dirty condition in our opinion may incur additional charges to be deducted from the damage deposit. NO SMOKING IN THE APARTMENT. Smoking in the apartment will result in ZERO DAMAGE DEPOSIT REFUND.

CHECK-IN PROCEDURE: We make every effort to check guests in upon their arrival in Paris. We will ask you for your flight or train arrival details, email you an arrival sheet with door codes and a contact cell phone number (after full payment) and arrange to meet you at the apartment to greet you. Please note there may be guests departing on your arrival day which may alter morning meeting times; see the “Same-Day Turnovers" section below. Nearly all arrivals after 2-3 p.m. are assured of arriving at a fully-cleaned and prepared apartment.

SAME-DAY TURNOVERS: If we have guests departing the apartment the same morning that new guests arrive, then the earliest new guests may access the apartment to drop luggage and get the keys is 10 a.m. At this time, we will show you how everything in the apartment works, give you the keys, answer any questions you may have, and give you an estimate of when the clean will be completed. You may leave your luggage in the apartment and then go out exploring or for lunch and when you return the apartment at the specified time it will be clean and ready for you. Please note that all guests must leave the apartment while it is being cleaned - no exceptions, please.

GUARANTEED EARLY CHECK-IN: The only way to guarantee access to a fully-cleaned and prepared apartment for morning arrivals is to reserve the night before your scheduled arrival day. Please inquire now if you need to add a night to your reservation.

CHECK-OUT PROCEDURE: Standard check-out time is 10 a.m., meaning ALL GUESTS AND LUGGAGE must be OUT OF THE APARTMENT before 10 a.m. Requests for late check-outs will need to be arranged well in advance and an additional fee may apply. Guests are asked to please leave the apartment in tidy condition by taking out all remaining trash/recyclables, and putting all used bed linens and towels in the bathroom.

SMOKING: There is absolutely no smoking allowed inside the apartment. Smoking inside the apartment will result in forfeit of the damage deposit and potential other costs for cleaning or damages.

LOST OR FORGOTTEN OBJECTS: Please note that we are not held responsible for any objects that maybe left behind in the property, you are 100% liable for all your personal belongings.

KEYS: You are 100% responsible for your keys. The keys will be explained at check-in; if you leave a key on the interior of the lock cylinder - even with the other set of keys - you will be locked out!! Locksmith charges are payable by the renter directly to the locksmith, and can run up to 1200 Euros, depending on the problem, day of the week, and time of day/night. Replacement sets of keys cost between 100-200 Euros.

If you arrive at the apartment afer 9 p.m.: 30 Euros
If you arrive at the apartment afer midnight: 50 Euros
*Please pay these fees to your greeter in cash if they apply to your arrival.

This is a nice although very small apartment. It was fine for us being only two people, but the shower and bathroom are exceptionally tiny. Location is decent and makes it easy to get to lots of attractions around the city. There is also a very helpful guide book with info on all the apartments amenities, nearby attractions, and restaurant suggestions. However given the tiny size of the apartment we found the €60 cleaning fee to be very exorbitant, and the fact it is due by in cash on arrival a little off-putting. We don't mind a cleaning fee, but for such a small space it is a lot. The kitchen was not very clean at all. Cups and plates had dust and food residue, and all the pans were clearly unwashed and greasy. This might not be a problem but given the big cleaning fee it left us wondering what we paid for.

Response from Ruben:
Thank you for your kind review, Roger! We are always available to fix any problems that guests may have during their stay, and we would have been happy to re-clean the apartment kitchen for you! We much prefer to hear about any issues you encounter during your stay so we can rectify the problem. Our cleaning fee is clearly listed in the House Rules, and we do in fact take great attention and care when cleaning, but if there are mistakes, we are happy to fix them - we are not perfect, although we certainly try our best! I'm glad you were both comfortable and had a good time in Paris! We'd be happy to welcome you back again in the future!
