The Shepherds Hut is sat in recently landscaped private gardens alongside the River Weaver in the Cheshire Countryside. Located on a private island with 4 other homes. Reached by a private road and bridge.
Sat on Dutton Locks next to the spectacular Dutton Viaduct, Dutton Horse Bridge and Dutton Sluices, all feats of 19th Century engineering.
This is a picturesque, peaceful spot, steeped in history. Superb for activities like angling, bird watching, walking, cycling, kayaking and relaxing

The space
Located on a island with close neighbours, the Shepherds Hut offers a private relaxing stay for up to 2 guests. Parallel to the glamping area is a self contained garden and house (accommodating 4 people). Therefore alongside hiring the Shepherd's Hut there is an opportunity to combine all three properties on the two sites (accommodating up to 6 guests in total) - Availability upon request.

Other things to note
The hot tub is a wood fired one which means it is heated by logs being burnt/ fire.

Unlike electric hot tubs the hot tub is drained, cleaned and filled with fresh water for your arrival.

It takes approximately 2 hours to heat the hot tub and we provide detailed instructions for how to light and heat the hot tub. You are heating 1000 litres of water and a well stocked established fire is required.

Depending on availability we can offer a pre heat service as an optional extra but lighting and heating the hot tub is considered a key part of the glamping experience. Please get in touch for further details.

My husband Eddie and his friend have lovingly restored a beautiful 19th Century Lock Keepers Cottage in the heart of the Cheshire Countryside, adding a yurt and shepherds hut to their grounds . It is based at Dutton Locks on the River Weaver. This is a new venture. Eddie has particularly enjoyed restoring this spectacular, historic site due to his background in Construction and Engineering and a fine attention to quality materials and build.
