Description

The space

The home is located in the beautiful, historic downtown core of Kingston. The space consists of a large living room and kitchen with 3 upstairs bedrooms. The bottom floor of the home is used by a physician as an office during the day (Tues - Thur) so the room would be best suited to very quiet individuals.

Guest access

Guests have access to the kitchen, a private bathroom and parking is provided in our driveway. You will also have access to all kitchen amenities and are welcome to anything in the fridge. There is coffee, tea, etc.

Interaction with guests

We will greet you and introduce you to the home, the neighbourhood and Kingston. After that the house is all yours.

The neighbourhood

The location is the best part of this apartment! It offers museums, historic military landmarks, nature, and a vibrant day and night life filled with bars and restaurants.

- Waterfront: a 10-15 minute walk away, you can sit on a bench and watch the sailboats on Lake Ontario, bike, cycle or walk the Waterfront Trail, or even take a swim, rent a kayak or try sailing for yourself.

- Downtown core: with the most restaurants per capita you will be sure to find the perfect spot for lunch, brunch or a romantic dinner.

- Queen's University: just a 10 minute walk away through Victoria Park is Queen's University, with it's lovely campus and beautiful old limestone buildings.

- Main Tourist Attractions: walking trails, reenactments, tours of Sir John A MacDonald's house and haunted walks - Kingston has more than enough tourist attractions to keep you busy and they are all located within minutes (walking) from the home.

Getting around

If you do want to venture beyond this beautiful neighbourhood there is a bus stop one block away! You can catch this to the main bus terminal, which takes you pretty much anywhere you want to go in Kingston or beyond (eg: take ViaRail to Montreal for the weekend).

Other things to note

We provide you with guide books, pamphlets, etc. to get to know the area and what there is to do.

House Rules

The main floor of the house is used as an office during the week (typically Wednesday and Thursday). The hours vary from week to week but it is typically between 10am and 6pm (I can confirm the exact times before you book). The doctor prefers that the house is empty while she is there for noise/privacy reasons. If you anticipate being home during these times or this being an issue in other ways please contact me before booking.
