St. Petersburg is a very beautiful and wonderful city. I recommend you to visit attractions such as:
1) The Hermitage
The Hermitage seek almost all the tourists who came to St. Petersburg. To get around all the halls of the Winter Palace, and calmly see all the exhibits, take a few days. Most tour groups run at a gallop along the route: St George's Hall - Main Staircase of the New Hermitage - "Madonna and Child" by Leonardo da Vinci - Knight Hall - a gold watch, "Peacock." To make sure to visit the Hermitage, it is better to come early in the morning, or else risk losing a lot of time or do not get inside.
2) Walk along the rivers and canals of St. Petersburg on the boat
The obligatory event in good weather in summer. It is best to choose a boat - with a lot of grandmothers' matyugalnikami "are the most crowded places. Personally, I prefer the routes that pass through the channel Griboyedov Kryukov Canal and the Moika. These routes pass under the spectacular Lion, Banking, Pochtamtsky bridges, surrounded by the St. Nicholas Cathedral, New Holland. These attractions are located far from the tourist center, so you hardly have time to reach them on foot, if you arrive in St. Petersburg for a couple of days.
3) Peter and Paul Fortress
A huge fortification in the center of St. Petersburg is not as interesting as it might seem. The main and essential point for all tourists is the Peter and Paul Cathedral. The spire of the cathedral with an angel under the cross is a symbol of St. Petersburg, but to see it is not necessary to go inside. Cathedral is notable for the fact that there are graves of Russian emperors since Peter I, including the family of Nicholas II. The interior of the cathedral is rather ambiguous, as is a cross between an Orthodox church and the Catholic Cathedral.
In the rest of the fortress is a museum of the history of St. Petersburg and the Mint, where they still print rubles. From the show for most travelers probably have an interest only museum of Trubetskoy Bastion prison and an exhibition of medieval torture instruments.
The best time visit, always.
Duration: 3-4 hours.
