The space

You'll love the cozy charm of our historic tiny house locally known as "The Doll House". We're excited to open this treasure to you for a night, a weekend, a week, or longer. Built in 1920, this house has been fully and lovingly restored to its former glory. It is tastefully decorated in period-appropriate furnishings - just enough room for you to enjoy the simple life of a tiny house. You'll be within walking distance to all of Plymouth's entertainment, restaurants and shops. You'll have everything you need - just bring your suitcase and groceries! The Doll House makes a perfect launching pad for your next vacation, skiing, hiking, business trip, or visit to nearby relatives or students at Plymouth State University or Holderness School. You'll have the entire home to yourself - it is a perfect get-away for two, but can fit four people comfortably.

Guest access

The Doll House hosts two full bedrooms upstairs, one room with a full bed and one room with two twin beds. The living room, fully equipped kitchen and bath with shower are downstairs. (Kitchen includes all dishes, cookware, silverware, utensils, glassware, coffee pot, etc.) In warmer months, enjoy the lovely screen porch at the back of the house, the front farmer's porch, garden sitting and eating areas and a cute "pocket park" across the street. (WiFi, of course!)

Interaction with guests

You'll have privacy with this whole-house rental and you'll have full access to the Doll House to come and go as you wish (though you might love it so much you won't "go" very often)! I will provide information for you to access the house at your convenience, so you'll arrive and "check-in" on your own!

Other things to note

The Doll House was built in 1920; the bedrooms do not boast the tall ceilings of modern construction. The downstairs rooms have tall ceilings, but the upstairs rooms (the two bedrooms) and the stairway will require some "ducking" for anyone over 6'2". We proudly pay our NH Rooms Tax. We had just one night in the beautiful, quirky Doll's House on our way from Boston to Montreal and wish we could have stayed a little longer. It has been lovingly restored and there are so many interesting features that we didn't really have time to appreciate in full. As Susan says in her description, the house is "just big enough" and we would second that. At 6ft tall my husband had a little struggle with fitting into the bed and shower cubicle, but this certainly didn't take away from the enjoyment of our time here. The house itself is on a peaceful, secluded corner of Plymouth, NH next to a tiny stream and is just 5 minutes walk away from the main street that has everything you might need for your stay. We enjoyed and recommend the Peppercorn Organic store, the Monte Alto coffee shop and Thai Smile restaurant. Susan made sure that we had all the details we needed prior to arrival and there was plenty of useful information in the folder in the house. We also loved the personal touch of having my name written on the chalk board to welcome us! Highly recommend this pretty little hideaway.

Susan made us most welcome and the Doll House had everything we could need and was delightful in it's detail - fresh clean and cosy. Plymouth is a lively university town and there is student housing close by. It is a great base to explore New Hampshire from, north, south, east and west and we loved Squam Lake and the fall colours. We would recommend Susan's house for it's charm and it's great central location.

We chose it for its quaintness and were not disappointed. We were delighted with everything about it. Cosy, comfy and warm with many interesting features and (amazingly, for such a space) everything we could possibly need. Great to have good food within walking distance too. We could have stayed and stayed. Thank you so much Susan.

Our two nights at The Doll House were absolute bliss! Couldn't have asked for a cuter, cozier place to stay. The whole house was clean, warm and beautifully decorated. Little touches like tea and coffee, and a well-stocked library made it feel very homely. Though you feel tucked away in the woods, Plymouth main street is just a few minutes away, with plenty of choices for eating. We were visiting for the maple syrup season and there were plenty of options in short driving distance. Really loved it, hope to come back one day!

Probably the most interesting place I've stayed in to date. 4 people stayed comfortably here, very cosy. House is beautifully furnished, and as others have mentioned, the attention to detail is excellent. I particularly liked the swing bench on the porch. Susan, though sadly we didn't meet, was very communicative and welcoming. Moments away from the beautiful town of Plymouth, and a short drive from the Kancamagus Highway and National park. Definitely will come back again!

Response from Susan:
Mo, so glad you enjoyed your stay. We had just upgraded the router and improved the internet speed, so I was hoping you would have good luck with the internet during your stay! We also had just gotten new mattresses for all the beds, and a new, low profile box spring. I hope you found everything as comfortable as we tried to make it for you! Thanks so much for choosing to stay at the Doll House!!!
