Interaction with guests

My husband and I live at the house and will be staying there when you visit. My husband is a University Professor. I will be there to welcome you, to provide breakfast, to answer any questions you may have and to help you feel at home in Oxford.

The neighbourhood

This classic Victorian 4 storey house is located within the University area of Oxford, very near St Hugh's, St Anthony's and St Anne's Colleges. North Parade, once the northern perimeter of King Charles' army during the civil war, now a lively street with cafes, pubs, shops and a regular farmer's market, is literally round the corner. It is a wonderful, old, vibrant, yet peaceful part of the city.

Getting around

The walk into town is easy or, if you would prefer, buses go every few minutes from just across the road. Northbound buses to Bicester Village Designer Outlet leave from 50 yards away and for Blenheim Palace from nearby on Woodstock Road.

The beautiful University Park is 5 minutes away, with the bohemian area of Jericho and the river Thames just 10 minutes in the other direction.

Buses to Heathrow and Gatwick airports go from Gloucester Green bus station which is 15 minutes walk away or a few minutes in a taxi. If you need parking this can be arranged either on site or round the corner.

Other things to note

Breakfast is served between 8.00 and 9.00 a.m. at weekends and between 7.30 and 8.30 a.m. from Monday to Friday - muesli, granola, fresh fruit, yoghurt, hot French baguette, scrambled egg and to drink orange juice, tea or coffee.

We had a great experience living some days in Miriam and Tim's house. They are very nice and kind persons. The house is very clean and comfortable. I certainly recommend it and if I would come again to Oxford, I would like to stay in Miriam's house again!

Miriam and her husband are as lovely as you can expect British people to be. The (royal) breakfast (between 8-9 AM) is more than decent ! Even coffee lovers find their happiness The house is close to the city center and just next to a charming quiet street with typicals pubs and restaurants. We will come back !

A beautiful home in a good location within walking distance of the centre but with restaurants closer if required. We were warmly welcomed and would stay again. The rooms are well equipped and the sitting room available for guest use was an added bonus.
