Upstairs the cabin has 3 sleeping rooms; 2 bedrooms and a den between them with large library, bed and desk. 2015 I installed a new AC upstairs in 3rd bedroom and with fan blowing it will cool entire upstairs rapidly. The "AC" bedroom has 3 windows and a door and stairs leading to the outside and a really nice floor space next to windows for stretching or doing yoga. The Master bedroom has a really nice large window looking out to the forest. Downstairs is the kitchen with windows looking into the woods and a large living room with two large picture windows facing the forest. There is an AC on kitchen floor(below counter) that can be put in kitchen window during severe heat waves but in general downstairs stays cool. Also there is a large bathroom with claw foot tub(with nice view of woods out window while soaking), large counter top and separate shower. The back of cabin has utility room(washer and dryer), and small room with bunk bed with new mattresses. Top bunk has a nice view out the window and bottom bunk is a cozy, quiet and comfy space to sleep soundly. The bunk bed room has it's own separate entrance outside with covered awning. August 2015 I put new floor(plastic that looks like wood) in both bunk bed room and utility room and installed brand new high efficiency washer. There is a dryer and clotheslines on trees by deck. Off the living room, there is a large wrap around deck connecting both cabin entrances with table, chairs and lounge chairs to enjoy the smell of the outdoors, wildlife, sounds of birds, and sounds of 5 seasonal creeks April to July and wind blowing though the trees. Outside there is 10 acres to explore plus adjacent public lands. There is lots of wildlife and bird watching, hiking, picnic spots, rock hunting in creeks & wildflowers.

It is only 10 minutes off convenient I-90 but privately located on 10 acres of conifers which guests have access to the entire acreage. There is a hiking trail down the middle of the property(starts at fire ring) that leads to a trail on the bordering Montana State Forest which leads up to the Lolo National Forest. There are 5 seasonal creeks and wildflowers galore April to July.

I run a mail order business in Sherwood Oregon so email, phone calls and texting is preferred since I'm out of state. Before your arrival please email via airbnb and when you are there please call or text(preferred) if you have questions or issues. Before your arrival Merry Maids will have thoroughly cleaned the home for more than the $100 cleaning fee we charge but it is worth it to have it professionally done.

There are other neighbors on the same road, Conifer Drive is a loop and the West side has a lot of homes packed to together but the East Side where this home is has 10 and 20 acre parcels and lots more privacy. People live here to get away so please refrain from being too noisy and disturbing the peace.

Best to rent a car or airport shuttle from Missoula airport which is only a 20 minute drive door to door from home. Sport utility is best in the WINTER as 4 wheel drive can be needed when Conifer Drive and driveway gets snowy.

Travelers can stay in a SPECTACULAR natural setting to unwind and enjoy nature. It is a GREAT way to get away from technology like cell phone calls and emails and internet so that is why there is NO wifi/phone at the cabin. With some cell phones, you can make and receive texts and maybe the occasional call in the Master bedroom or while wandering in the woods but if you need to make a good sounding call you can drive 2 minutes to top of Conifer Drive for 4 bars. It's rare to find nice forest on acreage near Missoula since the Missoula Valley is semi-arid and this cabin is a place in the woods to enjoy solitude but is so close to Missoula (25 miles) that you can take advantage of shopping and dining but return to the woods. The Cozy Conifer Cabin is a special place surrounded by a forest of mature Dougas Fir, Ponderosa Pine and Western Larch. The property, logged 100+ years ago has transformed from an overgrown forest to park like after a decade of thinning dead trees to stimulate growth of the larger trees and is now prime wildlife habitat. Since the forest is in such good condition, lots of deer and a multitude of birds call the property home and sometimes elk or the occasional black bear will wander through. The cabin was built in the 1980's from trees from the small meadow where the home now sits.
