The Farm House
The entire house is for you and your family to use and enjoy.
The main level has a living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry, full bathroom, sun-room and small sitting room/parlor. The sitting room has a full-size sofa bed and the living room has two couches, an easy-chair, and a TV with local channels only. The sunroom is a nice place to sit in the evening to watch the sunset.
The fully equipped kitchen has most everything needed should you choose to cook at home or, take a short 10-minute drive to town with many excellent restaurants. The kitchen is stocked with cooking spray, salt, pepper and sugar. There is plenty of room for a feast at the farm style dining table, which seats 6 comfortably.

There are three bedrooms on the second floor each with old-fashioned queen-sized poster beds. There is a full bathroom with shower, tub, two-sink vanity, and toilet. There are plenty of towels and linens so help yourself to whatever you need to use.

Places to go
The farm house is located in the Green Springs National Historic Landmark District in Central Virginia. If you want to explore a little further afield, the house is close to many wineries including Barboursville Winery and Keswick winery which are only 35 minutes away. Or you can visit historical sites such as Monticello, home of Thomas Jefferson or Montpelier, home of James Madison which are both nearby. Charlottesville and the University of VA are only a half hour away.  There are a few restaurants nearby (within 10 minutes) of the house and many others in Charlottesville, only a quick 30 minutes away on I-64. Grocery shopping is also nearby as are gas stations.  The house is easily accessible via I-64 and Virginia Route 15.

Guest Access to the 40 acres of grounds.

Guests are welcome to explore the property, walking across the fields and on the trails. Take a leisurely walk in the woods with your pet. All that we ask is that you keep your pet on a leash at all times outside of the fenced yard around the house. Dogs may swim off leash in the pond if supervised. The 1.5 acre yard around the house is fully fenced for your pet’s safety. Please keep all gates closed. If you do open a gate to go through it please close it the same way behind you.

Fishing
If you like fishing bring your pole and you can spend some time fishing on our 1-acre pond. Please note: There is no boating or swimming on the pond, only fishing. Both bass and brim are easy to catch in the pond. There are nice park benches next to the pond near the house and another one by the black pond.

Environmentally friendly house powered by the sun and heated and cooled by a geothermal heat pump.

Other things to note

*We do have a 2-night minimum and a 10 day maximum stay but we may make an exception upon request. If interested please inquire with us to plan your stay.

Other House Rules
If you add/invite other guests after you have made your reservation (with or without dogs) please inform us right away. As long as there are not more than 6 people there will not be any extra charges but we would like to know. If you want to add any extra dogs you will need to inform us. Finally, please respect our wishes not to have any group parties with outside guests. A small family gathering is fine but especially in this time of COVID we do not want to have to worry about large group gatherings at our quiet country home.
