The space
This is the original coach house which has been thoughtfully converted. It is located to the rear of the garden in a quiet, peaceful and sunny corner. We continue to make improvements and this year is no different - we have taken the opportunity to give the shower room an extensive makeover - a full refurbishment, to bring our guests even more comfort. We know you are going to enjoy the new standard.

Little Shelford is a quiet attractive village only 5 miles South of the centre of Cambridge.

Covid-19 - Update. We are taking even greater care to cleanse and sanitise every touching surface, switch and handle. We are also taking fewer bookings and leaving 72hours in between. We take the safety as well as the comfort of our clients very seriously.

For those who don't want to cook, the local Navigator pub is now fully re-opened and offers Thai food (eat in or takeaway). It is wise to book. There is also a Chinese takeaway, also offering fish and chips, close by.

An easy and pretty 15/20 minute walk will take you to the larger village of Great Shelford which boasts excellent amenities - all open - including a deli (Shelford Deli), 2 mini-markets (Co-op; Tesco), a butcher, bakery, pharmacy, a Chinese and Indian restaurant (eat in and takeaway) and an excellent farm shop at The Gog (deli and butcher), and Waitrose, within 3 miles. The famous Duxford Air Museum, just 4.8 miles away, is open again as are Cambridge Botanic Gardens and the famous Fitzwilliam Museum. It is best to check whether bookings are required in advance. National Trust properties are also taking bookings in advance. There is much to explore and enjoy.

There are excellent transport links available. The station at Great Shelford gives access to Cambridge and London Liverpool Street and is a 25 minute walk from the property. Alternatively, a faster service to London is available from Whittlesford station just 3.8 miles to the South. Stansted Airport is within a 30 min drive (via M11).

There is a Park & Ride service operating into Cambridge at Trumpington, just 3 miles away.

There is also a limited bus service into Cambridge from Church Street.

Guest access
We want to reassure our guests that we will be practising 'social distancing'. Also, we are adopting the Airbnb recommended cleaning and sanitising regime plus allowing 3 days between bookings. Our priority will be to provide a safe as well as relaxing environment.

You will have access to the whole Coach House, plus an area to sit outside to the front and side, in the sunniest corner of the garden. Everyone is welcome to walk the whole garden. They will have their own key and can come and go as they please. Off street parking is available as well. Please read the Directions carefully - the drive is narrow, but all cars do get down it.

Other things to note
There is a full house manual, giving details of all the facilities and also information on local eateries. There are many guides and local attraction flyers provided. In addition, we offer information on local walks.

Neighbourhood highlights

Little Shelford is a quiet attractive village only 5 miles South of the centre of Cambridge. Cambridge is home to the world-renowned university, founded in 1209. It has a wealth of stunning period architecture, a fine museum - The Fitzwilliam, punting on the Cam river and many many attractions, plus an excellent shopping centre, including a flagship John Lewis store - now open again.

For those who do not want to cook for themselves, there are local pubs - 'The Navigator' pub (Thai food) within the village. An easy and pretty 15/20 minute walk will take you to the larger village of Great Shelford which boasts excellent amenities, including a standout deli (Shelford Deli), 2 mini-markets (Co-op; Tesco), a butcher, bakery, pharmacy, 2 pubs, a Chinese and excellent Indian restaurant (offering takeaway). Just a little further out is the Wandlebury Country Park and the very popular Gog Farm Shop with butcher and delicatessen.

The pretty market town of Saffron Walden and the cathedral city of Ely are easy day trips, as are Aldeburgh and Southwold on the Suffolk coast, if you want to find the sea.

Being based in The Shelfords you are based perfectly to combine the peace and quiet of the country, with access to all the local attractions.
